Well, at least the American music is. I haven't yet played as any other CIV.

But seriously, it's really great. I couldn't believe how they slipped in Mahler's ADAGIETTO (5th symphony)! As soon as I heard it, my heart sank (Mahler wrote it for the love of his wife, Alma). It kinda made me fall head over heels for CIV V, mainly for those little moments that have sucked me into previous CIV games due to their sheer realism.

I did notice Dvorak's NEW WORLD SYMPHONY, but then again, everyone kinda knows that piece. Beethoven's EMPEROR PIANO CONCERTO was a nice touch too. The only downside I guess is that all of these composers are GERMAN, and not American, but then again, if we only used American composers, then our options are limited to George Gershwin and Philip Glass. Jazzy minimalism, anyone? :D

I agree. I always love Civ music.

Yes the music is awesome, I only played the demo :( as Egypt and the music there was amazing and completely different from what you heard. :)

Dvorak was either Czech or Slovak. Slovak I think.

I don't know much about Asian music, but the music while playing China is just beautiful. :)

And yes, I'm getting the Dvorak, Beethoven, etc while playing France. Wonderful choices. :)

I'm no Turk but when I started a random game and ended up as the Turks, I recognised the music (some kind of jannisary march called ceddin dedu or something similar IIRC) and it it is amazing, can't wait to see or hear the rest!

I've been telling people for years that Mahler is da bomb, and now it looks like Civ finally caught up to me. Right on.

I heard some Faure as Siam, but I haven't heard mahler or beethoven yet. I took love the adagietto, amazing piece of work all by itself, and it's only one movement of a gigantic symphany!

The tracks are all awesome. Like the asian inspired tracks too.

I only heard the last four minutes of the Adagietto, but it made me stop completely in my tracks. And I just started to look around the map... at the water... at the little people toiling away... it was kinda beautiful... but then Copenhagen wanted freakin sugar and I snapped back into reality...

Here are the four minutes of the Mahler that's also from the game conducted by Bernstein (well, not this exact recording, but you get the point...): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDpNtQlMbKI&feature=related
