CRAZED BESERKER HAVOK
Ok, this is my first succesion game, so bear with me
Vikings, Monarch, archipeligo-70% water, normal-temperate-4 billion yrs, standard, roaming barbs
GOING FOR CONQUEST VICTORY

Rules:Similar to madviking's mongolian mayham, we CAN NOT declare war until we have researched Invention, and once we get it we can only use beserkers and artilliary to attack OTHER CIVS, attacking barbs with warriors/archers ect. is fine
ALSO, once we get invention, we must always be at war with at least one civ....
So anyone interested in joing, let me know, im looking for at least 3 other people :D

Roster:
Eddfire3
demonpoet
Despair888
General Mayham
dalgo

Sign me up! I loved taking the world with Berzerks! As for land, I vote Ach so that the 'marine attack is used to it's fullest.

yea, i was definatly thinking archipelego, so that we can use those beserkers to their full potential... :nuke:
Im thinking archipelego, 70% water, and normal-temperate-4 billion for the other stuff, maybe just roaming barbs

When I played I didn't use any cat's or artillery of any kind, just the 'Zerks and it went very well. As for Barb's roaming is fine with me.

Are we going to be concerned with our Rep? I didn't, I just took a galley loaded with 'Zerks and sneak attacked a city each time I went to war...except when the Roman's, idoits they were, attacked an Egyptian city I had just taken. If we want to make sure our Rep is clean, that's fine I just think we need to get that straight.

Are we allowed to capture or build the SoZ or the KT? I do know we can't use the Ancient Cav or the Crusaders in our military, but disbanding them for sheilds could prove useful, as well as the other civs not having them. Of course if we capture a city with one of these wonders we could always raze it.

I assume we are going for a conquest victory?

I dont think we should be concerend with our reputation, the real vikings weren't (except when they were trying to make it worse ;) ), so i think we should burn and pillage to our heart's content!

And disbaning units created by SoZ or KT sounds like a good idea, those beserkers are fairly expensive.

Yes, we are going for conquest, sorry i forgot to mention that. We'll wait for a few more people to show before starting :)

I'm in, I usually play Continents with 70% Water on Regent to Monarch.
But I'm sure I'll do fine.

Looking forward to playing. :)

Ok, sweet we have another player!:)
We'll wait another day for at least 1 other person, if not we'll start with 3 ppl.

Sign me up, I love the Zerk :D

I've gotten quite comfortable on Monarch, and have even managed an Emporer win.

Edit: are you sure you want to go large map? MM'ing can take forever on anything bigger than standard.

Alright, we'll do a standard map, along with the other conditions i posted. I'll post three starts, and we can disuss the advantages and disadvantages, then pick on and start.

Edit:I wont diable the other victory conditions, just incase we change out mind

Start #1
****NOTE****
I made a mistake, this is actually a CONTINENTS map, it was a good start so i kept it...if you want to stick to archipelego, we can use one of the other two starts

Start #2

Start#3

Ok, so we can discuss which one we want to use, then we'll start :)

#1 with a settler move 1 to the NW looks like the best of the three, but the downside is that its continents (though it would allow artillery to be used more effectively...)

If we want to go with archipelago then I think #3 would be the best start (fresh water)

Just my $.02, starts are my weak point.

yea, i personally think we should do the top one, even tho its continents, i dont really mind, and the fresh water in the 3rd one is definatly a plus.

I actually like the 2nd start best. We have 2 BG's to work, plus what appears to be 3 forests that can be cleared for sheilds.

Our second city will have the fish, so once it will have extra growth after a short while.

What I like about it most, though, is that there appears to be a second land mass very near our capital. So building on the next land mass that close to cap should reduce corruption, a big plus when expanding to another land mass. Not to mention if there is an AI on that land that we can trade with early, and destroy as soon as 'Zerks board a galley!

Start one is nice, but it requires stepping the Set to not build on a BG, although the river compensates for the step I think. It's also contentents, so there could be several AI's on our land, which could get us going to war with more then one civ on our home territory. I don't know if we would try to get allies, although getting allies to help us fight an enemy then attack their rear is very Viking...mwahaha.

I don't like the 3rd start at all. Although there is fresh water, there is no tiles we can work that give us 2 food and a sheil till we either mine or irr.

I vote start 2, but start 1 is fine. Will play start 3 if that's the groups desire though.

Well i vote for start 1, if theres no objections.
I'll wait a little for the objections, then we'll talk about turn order and things such as that!

Ok so were gonna start, using Start #1, even tho its continents. The turn order is:
Eddfire3
DemonPoet
Despair888
General Mayhem
dalgo

24 hours to get it/48 to play it like usual
We'll do 20 turns each, we may reduce it later!
LONG LIVE THE VIKINGS

dalgo, you can definatly join, now we have the full team of 5 people :)

THE CRAZED VIKINGS, PART 1
Turn 1-Move settler 1 NW
Turn 2-Setttle Trondheim>start building warrior
Turn 3-7-Wait
Turn 8-Begin exploring with warrior>start settler construction
Turn9-20-nothing much, border expands on turn 11, finish mine on hill on turn 15

Heres a screenie of our postion at the end of turn 20:
Viking1.jpg

The reddish brown dots are where i suggest building cities.
Demonpoet, your up
Despair888, on deck
And the save

eddfire, what is your reasoning on leaving Trondheim waiting 4 turns for growth before it can crank out the settler? I would have cranked out a curragh or another warrior first, but I am curious as to why you went this route.

well, i looked at our position, which looks like we are at the end of a penninsula, and i have had bad experiences with quickly spreading AI's that cut me off when im on a penninsula. I also was ignorant and didnt realize that Trondheim was going to grow that fast...but i basically wanted to expand asap
