I just finished my first game and won with a culture victory before the modern age. I was expecting something cool at the end of the game, but I just had the other civs praising me.
My question is, are all victories like this?

You post should have read, LAME ENDINGS.

Yea. I had the same LAME ending. It was the worse ending to a video game I have EVER seen. It took all the gusto out of victory.

Thanks for the rushed :vomit: game.

My solution to lame endings is to simply turn off victory conditions that really irritate you more than once. I have already gotten rid of space race victory, but I have never won a cultural victory before the twentieth century, and well into the modern age. This is probably because I generally play a small compact civ, and cultural victories I win are the result of one city hitting 20,000 culture points.

Do all victories end the same way or are there different endings.

My culture victory seemed kinda of short, with me not hitting the modern age I still haven't really experienced a full game.
Disappointed with a culture victory (never again for this type of victory for me):vomit:

I wouldn't suggest turning off cultural victory quite yet. Try playing at higher levels. It is much harder to overwhelm your opponents with culture. In fact, I think the possibility of a cultural victory adds an interesting element to the game. Againk, it will occur MUCH later (if ever) at higher levels, because you also have to have twice as much culture as your nearest competitor to win with 100,000 points. I noticed at lower levels the AI rarely builds cultural improvements. At Monarch I usually have a hard time even keeping up with the AI's culture.

Honestly, who cares what happens at the end!

You just took over the world - isn't that enough to satisfy you?!?!

In civ2 I used to surround the last enemy city and just laugh for a few turns before putting them to the sword. That was a great way to end it!

Other times, I build a lot of nukes, nuke and pave a whole enemy civ in one turn to finish them. It was like ripping out their heart in mortal kombat!

I was kind of expecting some sort of animated sequence of my worshipful citizens chearing my exploits the first time I won. I guess I'll live without, but why isn't there one. Anticlimactic.

Yeah all that I have seen are the same. It sucks no ending, Just play for your satisfaction of wuinning. and no its not the worst ever. Play Karnov on the NES. The ending to that was a black scrren that said. "Congratulations, you win...." Not even credits. Just a frozen black screen that you had to reset to get out of. ;P
