Here is the highest difficulty level of the game. No, not Deity - Deity, comparing to that level isn't much different from Chieftain:)

___________________Save your copy op civ2.exe!_____________________

rename .txt files into .rar files and unpack in your civ2 directory.

Now how to play it:

Just press SHIFT-C in the game and your level will be triggered to the level "Slava".

Of course better press in in the first turn in order not to get unfair turns of lower levels;)

Enjoy!

More comfortable patch:

In fact, I was wrong - game DOES save difficult levels. Now it's all simplier: just press SHIFT-C in the beginning of the game - and play at the most difficult level till the end:)

The posts and files for MGE and ToT were updated.

Oh, I didn't notice interesting thing. Not only you play the most difficult level, you also switch to civilization Romans and huge ammount of barbarians:D

I guess, will be fixed soon.

Start game on Deity if you wanna have the highest difficulty level. If you start on chieftain, your level will be lower on 5. Not so big difference, but the best is always the best :D

That's the Russian empire(not the whole, though) in 325 B.C. against my 2-sezed London city:) I have made alliance with them a turn before their catapult was ready to capture my last undefended city! But I had to declare on Babylonians for that

You know that by pressing Shift+Z will give you the normal zoom level? The game looks just so much better then.

Also, amazing progress! :goodjob: I wonder when we will get the first message someone has beaten the AI on the highest difficulty?

3 enemies (left civs) on my island. War with all 3. Who should I make peace with? :D (one opportunity - others will make peace only if I declare on another civs).

Ah, who cares. It is 1866 AD now.

Its because you didn't play that level :D If you do - you will see AI in the modern age even before you discover Construction(for example) :)

For example, for me it's weird, that nobody was interested in the hardest level in the game, because it is the most interesting to play.
You should always explain what you created.
I suppose you changed the .exe so that it allows saving and reloading?
I compared the savegames before and after shift-C and I see the level changed from 05 to FF. So it looks it is Deity +250. Any other change? Probably yes, because I can't open a Deity+26 game (that I created by hexediting the save - I just changed FF to 1F).

I saw the AI through the cheat menu and the shield box is zero wide and the AI cities build in one turn. But I suppose Deity+7 would be very similar. Except a bit better corruption for a human, but Deity+30 should(?) be equal like Deity+250.

I don't think the gameplay would be too interesting, since IMO you have no chance to win. Maybe in a bloodlust game and in 3000 AD with some special tricks... Anyway the gameplay won't resemble a normal civ2 game.
(BTW is there any trick how to have a production greater than 1 under Despotism in non-capital cities?)

I would like to have a very hard game but with a gameplay similar to Civ2 and with a chance to win. So a very strong AI but normal happiness.
So I tried to edit the happiness in rules.txt and tried a Deity+250 game but it had no effect, probably numbers over 255 are ignored. Then I tried Deity+26 game but it crashed :(
