I was just wondering how many CFCers are running Hotline servers or are using the Hotline client.
I am running one at 66.26.30.53
I haven't setup any rules or anything yet, but when I start to learn more about the program there will be files available for download.
No Warez of course

I am having problems connecting to my own Hotline server. Is there anybody that can help me?

Sorry PaleHorse, I was... on holidays

So, first: I wouldn't run a server using my horsehockey 56k connection

Concerning your problem: if you are running a proxy server, that's quite impossible for anybody to connect to your server. If you "only" have a firewall, make sure that the main routing parameters are correct. Now, if you still can't connect as admin to your own server, make sure that your login doesn't contain space characters. Anyway you can always try to manually connect it, i.e. entering your local IP address and your l/p. If it doesn't work, then check your server IP value. Normally you should leave it at 0.0.0.0
Then try to connect using the loopback IP value, ie 127.0.0.1

Otherwise, drop me an email, since I won't be on CFC often.

Got it to work using my local IP. I am running a firewall but not a proxy server. I need to find out if anyone can connect to me, but nobody but you and I seem to use the program. SO how is it going? And damnit, why aren't you visiting CFC anymore?

Cool to hear such good news. Well, if you leave your server open 24-7 then I might visit it once and tell you whether I can connect or not. Btw, I suppose I can still use the l/p we agreed some times ago to connect, right?

Oh, and the reason why I don't visit CFC often is that I'm quite busy preparing my graduation in september, and searching a job

Well guess what...

I have a 128 ISDN at home now!!!
(actually it's on my father's ibook)

15 hours to d/l 650 MB

15 hours in greece costs 4000 drachmas (80 F. Francs). A bit less than a music CD!

I'll D/l civ III from there if the release date for Europe is not October and play it on the PC I'll get.

Wow if it costs that much you might as well factor in the cost of the CD-R or RW. I'd just buy the game
