I just finsihed my first PTW game that ended in the Modern Era and I thought I would sing the praises of the internet. This wonder creates a research lab in every city on the contienet. This didn't sound too good for me at first, because I already had research labs in all of my main cities, but I soon found a use for it.
I decided it would be fun to take over the whole world and have every city belong to me. I already had control of my island which was about 2/5 of the land. The remaining 3/5 was all lumped up in a large island. The internet saved me tons of cash on this new island I was taking over. When I take a new city I usualy rush a temple or library to extend my borders and to decrease the ammount of flips. But with the internet, every newly captured city got a research lab that added culture--for free! All it cost me was a great leader, but since I was China and all of my tanks were Veterans or Elites, I would gain a leader about once every 20 turns, so it wasn't a big loss.
Has anyone else ever used this affect of the Internet? I didn't find it useful for boosing my science rate, but the ammount of culture it added in my newly captured provinces helped greatly.
