Hey there!
I have been planning a mod, and decided that I wanted the Jews
present, instead of the kingdom of Numidia.
Any ideas as to what their pre-medieval UU and UB might be and what they replace?

UU: Maccabean Slinger

UB: For this one its difficult, but maybe Royal Stables could work? The Israelites used chariots, maybe not as famaosly as the Hittites or other ancient near eastern peoples, and they found Solomon's Stables recently in Israel, just an idea.

But how сan the Maccabean Slinger be special?
From what I read, "The Maccabean Revolt was a conflict, lasting from 167 to 160 BC, between a Judean rebel group known as the Maccabees and the Seleucid Empire."
Maybe, it should have some partisan bonuses?
As to the UB, inventing a bonus shouldn't be that difficult.

A friend told me that the Maccabee's strength also came from their tactic of stealing defeated enemy's equipment, such as armor and weapons, and using it against the former owners.

If they could have a promotion that allows them to learn the promotions of enemy units, that might work. You can actually find this, Platyping's promotions, he made one called "Gifted" which allows a unit to learn an enemy's promotions in battle.

But they were guerrillas, weren't they?(maybe something like additional I strikes or woodsman and guerrilla promotions)
And does it actually have to be a slinger? For example, it could just be could be called
just "Maccabean" instead.
Anyway, inventing a bonus isn't really a big problem - getting a NAME for the unit is the thing most times takes up some time.

Yeah they weren't all slingers, they used whatever they could get their hands on. And they were definitely guerillas. Just Maccabee or something like it would work.

Bamah? High place/ place of worship?
Would have been certaily great in Gods and Kings, but we'll have to see about that in CivIV.
But could do something like add GP emergence rate bonuses or Great Prophet points...
Will take a look in the XML guide about this...
