Grandmaster
Deity
Although the new Prince of Vanir was not as much of a fan of noble ceremony as his predecessor had been, he felt it was only proper that CivGeneral, the newest member of House Vanir, be knighted in the style of those who had come before. The ceremony was small, but great nonetheless. The Prince stood in the front of the room on a daise. The great oak doors of the room opened and in walked CivGeneral, clad in the dress uniform of the Army. He approached the Prince, then knealed.
GM: CivGeneral, why do you approach me this day?
CG: I approach you, my liege, that I may better serve you and your kingdom.
GM: And in what way do you wish to serve?
CG: By force of arms, sire.
GM: And what do you require to serve Great Vanir by force of arms?
CG: Nothing, m'lord. I have a sword and a strong arm.
GM: That is well, CivGeneral.
The Prince lifts the ceremonial sword of Vanir from a table beside him. The crowd looks on, having not seen the sword drawn in many a year.
GM: CivGeneral, to recognize your wish to serve Vanir I dub ye Sir CivGeneral, Prince of Kampfenvanir. Rise, Sir CivGeneral.
CivGeneral rises, smiling widely.
GM: You say that you have a sword and a strong arm, but I fear that is not of much service to Vanir in this day and age. Therefore, good Sir Prince, I present you with the weaponry of a Ranger of Vanir.
Two Vanirian soldiers step forward and hand CivGeneral an assault rifle and the blue beret of a Ranger.
GM: You will hereforth be a Commander of the Ranger, the highest rank in the armed forces of Vanir. Is this acceptable to you?
CG: Yes, of course, my lord. I will serve Vanir to the utmost of my ability.
GM: That is well, Sir CivGeneral. You are dismissed, Commander.
The crowd cheers as the proud new Prince walks down the aisle and back out the great wooden doors.
