The latest patch always redownload my mod.

For ingame "Mod-Button" u need to activate the steam community feature (aka steam-overlay) in Civ's settings -> take a look at my screenshot (its in german but u should know what i mean)

Interesting i just try that and it worked i never had to do that before and i get that damn pop up each time i start a game.

A hearty THANK YOU for that. I had it disabled. It is now enabled and the "Get Mods" button has returned. I do not remember this being an issue in the past but after the mod problems resulting from the last patch anything is possible.

No you never had to do this before with the old patch and it still doesn't solve the ticking of the mods.

I went ahead and UN-subscribed to every MOD I had via the Steam browser. Restarted system. But I still get downloads of mods upon start up of steam MOD screen. What happened?

I enjoy the use of a number of mods whenever I play, but whenever I start the game and try to activate my mods, they have all been uninstalled and re-download. I have found this to be very inconvenient, as it happens every time. :(

Moderator Action: Merged with the main thread about this problem.

The fix for ingame "Mod-Button" was postet in the patch log :)

The "Reloading-Bug" and the "I dont want to save ur Mod-Settings-Bug" :D is new since fall patch. No solution unless they ll do a hotfix for this.

This is really a "how to kill a game"; unable to play older saves and new ones both crashes and can`t be uploaded:mad:

Roll back the %&¤%& "update"!

After the Patch i did:

Killed old Save Games :(
Deleted the cache
Checked system files via Steam

I did a mod-work around and now all my "old" and "New" Mods for G+K 1.02.xx are working fine. Also my new saves.

This too is happening to me... however I have found a way to make it bearable.
First yes... unsubscribe from all mods [just subscribe to get it then stop] Its really terrible that you cant just one shot download it [at least if there is... someone enlighten me please :) ]

But that does not stop the installing every time. *sigh*
What will stop that is removing any and all *.civ5mod files from your MODS directory.
At least that worked for me and I dont think I have seen that mentioned.

I have no solution for the perpetually disabled [ie not ticked] mod bug.

I'm old-schooling it....simply writing down on pad with pencil what Mods I have decided on. recheck them when I begin and check them off my list. Load-done. :old:

oh thank **** mods dont download or un-select anymore now i can play again

the hotfix did fix this problem for me
haven't played long enough to see if it fixed the other issues the last patch introduced

I was just about to post a rather drastic fix to the redownloading mods problem. I had a major computer problem and decided that the best way to fix it was to reformat my main drive and reinstall windows. After I did this the problem with redownloading mods stopped. Now i know why, lol. Thanks for the info though I will keep it in mind for future reference

After the patch, the game will initially again redownload all the mods, but only 1 time.
If it still happens more often for you, then please delete the game's cache (means you should delete everything in Documents\My Games\Civ5\Cache).

Was this problem fixed? I just got the game a few days ago and am having this problem now. :(
I went offline on Steam to play it and lost most of the mods.
I have had one or two go missing before that though.
