Why did Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" somehow get associated with "Peter and the Wolf"? I looked in wiki's articles on both subjects and did text searches for the relevant keywords and they don't mention them (Peter and the Wolf doesn't have the word "mountain" in it and vice versa). So neither article mentions the other work. So how did this happen? I'm wondering if it has something to do with Disney ("Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" is incorrectly known as "Alice in Wonderland" due to Disney).

I dunno man. Peter and the Wolf is a children's story, no? The Mountain King is a 2/2 Goblin that gives all other goblins +1/+1.

Err... yeah.

Maybe it's named based on different culture's version of the story? Much like Alice and her "trip"?

EDIT: After researching it a bit, I agree. No correlation, other than both have been set to Orchestra's. Where do you see a link, thus making the thread?

I have no link. I have heard multiple times in my personal life, when people are talking about the music of "In the Hall of the Mountain King", it is incorrectly called "Peter and the Wolf".

I use to have a record of 'Peter and the Wolf" and uses the "In the Hall of the Mountain King" song in it. I can't remember where it comes from specifically but it was a stage play musical at one point.

After listening to peter and the wolf I am greatly mistaken. Links coming.

Lets start with the King.

I could have sworn it was in there. But after skimming over it its not. Thats shows me for thinking I can remember things from over 20 years ago.

Hmmmm strange things.

"In the Hall of the Mountain King" is generally refered to as the Alton Towers music here.
