The New World Never Existed...

Why would there have been no horses? what were the mongols riding, zebra?

No camels, either. Not sure if there'd be donkey cavalry...

You guys really don't get it, do you? I'm not interested in natural science changes... !

You should see some of those Alternate History forums. They really dig into the details. :)

Britain will be a world power and we will all turn into pickles with cartoon eyes

Could it be that "added", "acceleration", and "quicker" mean the same thing, and so you are agreeing with me, despite the "nah" in the beginning of your sentence?
I was disagreeing with the "this", not the "faster" janx. My impression - correct me if I'm wrong - was that you were indicating that the colonial acquisitions in the New World were the primary reason for Europe's faster development than Asia, and I'm mostly opposed to the "primary" bit. Colonial monies from the New World didn't really make stimulate development so much; to take one example, even at its height, the Spanish silver trade via the Manila galleons and the trans-Atlantic shipments only ever reached a third of the revenues the Crown got from Castile alone (which doesn't count Italian, Dutch, Aragonese, Portuguese, or other sources of income...).

It'd be nice if we resurrected the AH threads in the NES forums, but interest seems to have dropped in the last few months...:(

Not the primary reason, one of the reasons.

Not the primary reason, one of the reasons.
Then I misunderstood you. Sorry. Yes, they were one of the reasons for increased European development.

I'm all for "what ifs" but this is so ridiculously far-fetched that there's nowhere to begin. You can't even possibly imagine how different the world would be without the Americas physically not being there. From a non-human and natural point of view the world would already look extremely different. Maybe you need to start from there rather than from political or humanistic viewpoints.

Um if the New world did not exist then the Earth would not be considered a planet, it would have the shape roughly of a football (American Football)
