the oobs 2nd pitboss game, 18 players

I can only play when I have the time. Also it is not lik I am doing any damage to anyone, considering that I cannot compete against tanks. So quite complaining and jus do your job and I will do mine.

Even so we do have rules. If you don't want to play by those rules you're free to leave the game and we can have an AI take over.

So it is better that I miss a turn than play, because that it what would have to happen, since I generally only have a limited time to play. Also you will need to have something to say to Warshington, since he just had a double move on me.

Well have the two of you made some kind of arrangement? I never recall any of these problems while Agemo was running Spain.

Work it out amongst yourselves, there should be more than enough time each turn for the two of you.

Um, the only reason that my DM happened was because your DM made it so that I didn't move first in that turn, so yea, I did end up moving 2nd in the turn and then resuming my usual move first in the next turn... I am usually only able to play the turn between 5PM and 11PM Eastern Standard Time (US) or -5GMT. This usually worked out that I made a move first in the turn and agemo moved second... If this is a situation that is not agreeable I would be willing to change it, I just need to know when is best for you so we can avoid any DMs at all...

Well the times that you play aree generally after when I lay, so Double moves really should not happen if we play when we normally play as I generally will be playing at the same times in my Timezone, which is GMT +8 but with DST until the 24th of this month. I generally play around from 10:00 GMT to 14:00 except on weekends when I have more time to play.

I have been unable to connect to this game all day...

Civstats isn't telling me that the server is down, but no ones connected for about 15 hours now and I can't ping my ip so something screwy is happening. I'll check it out when I get home in a couple of hours... if you see me on MSN, then it should either be already working or will be soon.

And in other news: cool firefox theme (if you like dark themes).

Have talked with Crazy Joe, unless Classical Hero has a suitable explanation for this, Englands first nuclear missile (not long from now) will be flung his way.

Well the world is safe from Englads wrath for now... :-) The last Spanish city has fallen under the German-American joint attack... The newly formed American States of what was the former Spanish Empire have American citizens flowing rapidly into them... The American Redcoats are moving out to take up residence in their new homes... A celebration parade is planned for downtown Washington within the coming days...

I have been unable to connect all day...

The timer froze when the turn ended, presumably because I just finished the SS engine.

So, I've won the game everyone :king:. I'll leave the server running in case anyone wants to log in to see for themselves.

I figured it was something like that.

My empire still wasn't finished expanding into it's available space. :P I had four more cities planned.

and I think Dr. Strangelove was about to try to attack me.... I would have been interested to see how that ran out... ;)

The thing is: That would have been my first conflict.

I basically spent the whole game expanding unheeded, with no one in my way, and no wars to detract from my funds. How did I end up so far behind? Am I just that bad at managing my economy? What did I do wrong in this game?

PS. It's cool that we still get to watch the mini-replay, just like in SP...

well if someone managed to launch before your done expanding... Even on huge map..

Well here's basically what I did if anyone's interested, it's fairly simple:

1) Cottage spamming with a financial civ
2) Built several academies (philosophical helps with this)
3) Used my highest food city as a GP farm
4) Built wall street, bank, etc. in my holy city, spread my religion well, and used a few great merchants as super specialists in that city, so it generated a lot of gold. This allowed me to almost break even at 100% science, selling arms allowed me to run at this rate for the whole late game. Ideally this city would also be the GP farm but it didn't have enough food squares to make this viable.

There's more but that's the gist of it. Elizabeth is the best science leader in vanilla civ (fin/phi), and probably Warlords as well (fin/phi in that too).

Can someone post some screenshots of the game so I can see how it turned out? I really wish I could've finished it, but I would've had to drop out in January anyway (as my laptop's hard drive melted and I'm currently running off a 5GB drive).
