WEIGHING ANCHOR

CBS PHOTO TRICKERY TAKES A LOAD OFF
'SLIMMER' COURIC

THE EYE LIES: CBS anchor gal Katie Couric as she looked for real at Carnegie Hall in May, and about 20 pounds lighter in a Photoshopped portrait that appeared in the network's in-house mag.

August 30, 2006 -- Talk about a miracle diet - Katie Couric has become the Incredible Shrinking Anchorwoman.

Thanks to a computer "slight" of hand, the Tiffany network has made the new face of "CBS Evening News" instantly drop about 20 pounds.

In a picture widely distributed to the media last month, a normal-looking Couric wore a frumpy light gray suit and her trademark smile.

Maybe Katies had to many of those quad deckers from Burger King.

I like her with a little chub.

If they alter her what else would the news anchor be willing to alter.:mischief:

This reminds me of the MadTV skit where Debra Wilson does 'Fat Oprah' and uses the 'skinny' camera.

They're just trying to boost their marketshare. Nothing that no one else hasn't done before. It's no different than her putting on makeup to hide the blemishes.

Exactly cushon. I hate getting bruises from ribs and elbows and hips and stuff. Plus the sound of skin slaping is infanitly better then bones klanking together. Was it CBS that photoshoped someone in to a picture not to long ago? (I think it was Katies pic)

I think it was then thay had that whole memo-gate thing and a number of other things ... not the CBS with Walter I grew up with.

So much for credibility. Does anyone think these things through? Who is the jackhole that signs of on these shananigans?

Just another reason to watch FOX News, eh? Their beauties are natural!

I truly wish I could watch Fox News, if for no other reason than to find out what the hell everyone is obsessing about  :gripe:

The supermodel bike maybe nice to look at but the more voluptuos model makes for a more comfortable ride. I forget who said that, some comedian.

Now if only the news wasn't illusory as well, then you'd be talking:mischief:

I have an idea: hire hot young broads to read off the teleprompter, not old bags. No Photoshop required.

Who cares? ABC has been soft-focusing Barbara Walters for years, I don't really see the difference!

The difference is Baba Wawa is like what ... 300 years old and Katie is still fairly young and a chunky butt, good thing wide screen TV's are getting popular, huh?

Reuter's Palestine photo and now this? I've officially lost my trust in media photographers.

I have a serious issue with this. What are they trying to do, pretend that everybody on TV is perfect? Or that people will not listen to someone slighty plump?

They're doing what everyone else is doing...putting the best possible face forward.

This is no different than everyday people using make-up, or photoshopping their vacation pics to make them look better.

Remember your high school pictures? And how they airbrushed the pimples out of those? Same thing...just in front of millions of people.

I have no problem with what they're doing. If they feel the need to do that to make themselves feel better...hey, it's not hurting me, so why should I care?
