lol pawpaw :)

Um Ethiopia.

And don't get on to me about the name. I just use it cause its easier and more recognizeable.

To make my feelings known on the subject, the only civ aside from byzantium whom I feel trully deserve the last spot in civ are the Ethiopian/Abyssinian/Axumite , preferrabley under the most recognizable name of Ethiopia

BUT

they dont have Cataphracts, and therefore, since the Byzantines do, and the Cataphract being (lets face it here, no one can deny it) a awesome unit ot use, wins my vote :) for gameplay reasons...

lol Xen, no offense, but you really seem obsessed with the Byzantium empire :)

Ethiopia makes me think of starving kids with distended bellies, not a grand empire. I say call it Abyssinia.

Xen - the cataphract would be an awesome unit. I won't deny that.

The Poles could have a winged Hussar, which would also be mega-cool.

some other comments-

@Inhalaattori- I actually didnt know of the Asatru, and am very happy to here that other groups are retaing there ancient ways

though I feel compelled by recent dicussion to state some things about religion in the Roman empire-

@ all
for what its worth, the Roman empire was -relativlly- tolerant of other religions, even to the point of officially protecting Judaisim, and non sacraficial druidism -as long as the druids held no asperations of any sort of political power- were tolerated, however, the killing of christians- unless they had comited crimes that merited it- did not deserve to be killed, or harmed for there belifes- it was not an honorable thing to have done

@Yom- I am obsessed with the Byzantine empire, as along with the Arthurian English, and the Vikings, they are my favorite middle agers :)

not to mention they have the potential to be a VERY fun civ to play in civ3, and are a very often neglected civ when it comes to gaming, somthing that, weather they be Roman (as some argue), or a seperate culture, and nation, and civ (as I argue), it a shame t see them left out so often, when the merit being first choice in x-pack civs for civ3

I agree with Stones fan, a hussar would be cool unit, though I think it would look a bit too similer to the Ottoman UU as it is

well... late Romans but....

nope, lots of new discoverios that more or less conclude that mighty king Arthur was,,,,oh what was his name.... somthing along the lines of high king or somthing in latin, who was general, and more or less ruler of Britain and Wales in the name of Rome, late 4th century

I'll try to find the latin "name" (whaich was rally a title) later

yep, I'm glad richard Harris got to do that before he died- he's the classic King Arthur/Merlin type all around!

I also want a helmet just like that late Roman version of Arthur had- that was an awesome helmet- could use a crest though
