The Sid Virgins Try Sid Again (settings TBD)

As a retrospect, I guess the no. 1 reason for failure of nero3 is flip of the horse city to Ottomans. It made you fight the Turkish for several times and with no actual gain, greatly distracted your effort to beat Abe.

Not again!

I think we should first choose our general strategy, and then generate starts. We're doing it opposite way now.

I'd say first expand as much as possible, and then start building units.

STUPID RNG!!! I had 5 archers lined up against 3 spears in their capital with no defensive bonuses and I failed to take it! Then I had 3 archers vs 2 spears against a cultured town, and they failed too! This game is no longer winnable, as Korea has swords.
5 archers against 2 spears is a bit risky and 3 archers is really not enough. Offa made a great tool that can calculate the odds of taking a city, download it and play with it a bit. My advise is to always have enough units to take the city with 90% chance. That means 7-8 archers against 2 spears IIRC.

I won't be playing in the next attempt, my SG time is limited and i want to play in civ4 SGs too.

One thing is for sure, if we don't agree on tactics, we're not gona win. We can go either way for me, but if we choose a tactic we must stick to it, because the middle way won't work on sid.

lurker's comment: i think you need to win a Sid Game with a alphabetic civ first, THEN do the challenge, just so you know what you will except in late game.

Don't think that'll work for me as I apprear to be the only european here, so will always have to wait about 18 before I can play. I'm not in a hurry for cIV. Am not gona buy until tested. All the screenies I've seen are verry messy, so much info I don't know where to look. Could do an arch just to get some more feel for the level. Must say I find this a rather large step. Deity is very doable with a decent start, but on SID I'm just able to follow, not overtake.
