Well, Maxis has done it again: A new The Sims expansion pack. Now your Sims can be superstars! By looking at the screenshots, I think two superstar options will be actor/actress and model. It will be released around May 20. You can find more info at The Sims website and at GameFAQs.

I bought Livin' Large, Hot Date, and Unleashed, and I got bored with The Sims a while ago. I think it's about time they stop making expansions and move on to another game. What about you?

Edit: And also feel free to discuss the future game, of course.

I'm not sure of the actual numbers, but couldn't you buy a console with money someone could have spent on The Sims and its various expansion packs?

If EA was kind, these would be free downloads in patches and updates. Not a $30 expansion pack.

Yep, assuming you paid $50 for The Sims and $30 for each of the six expansion packs (including Superstar), you could buy a Gamecube (for $200), plus have $30 left over.

Not quite. You could get the platinum gamecube with metroid prime and two platinum controllers for only $150, two wavebirds, and (almost, short by $10 :p ) two memory card 251s. ;)

Anyway, I hate maxis for milking the sims. It was a great game, but for only an hour. I was happy when SimCity4 was released, but this expansion has made me lose my faith in maxis again. :(

Nooo. It's time they put a stop to this incessant wave of expansions. I bought the original game and two expansions and I feel ripped off now that they're still not content with the money they've made! I very much agree that these should be free, downloadable patches rather than new expansion packs.

Hmmm its a business, they need to make money, people keep on buying, so they keep on supplying. So if you want to stop the endless expansions don't buy them and tell everyone else not to buy them :)

1-2 expansion packs are ok but 6!!! there is somthing seriously wrong with that but yet i dont know a singal person who buys them all yet there are enough sales to justfy more who are these people buying it and how long will it be till the next expansion pack to be release costing even more money

Yeah but there are lots of other series of games where there is little differentiation from the last one, like CM and Fifa...

This new expansion sounds stupid to me. What they need is a Battlefield 1942-The Sims combination! ;) Let's send Bob Newbie to war!

I agree that they should stop making Sims expansion packs...I used to buy them and stoped a while back. It just got boring...

I will likely get the expansion, but I don't play the game all that much anymore...I just load the expansion, make some changes to my sims, then get tired with it...a friend of mine gets me a copy at cost, otherwise I wouldn't pay $30 for the expansions. $11 is doable, that's the cost of seeing a movie for one person, so it's justifiable.

I have never purchased The Sims or any of the expantions but have played them a little at a friend's house. I don't know why people like these games, I would rather play real life and actually get something in return for the hard work! :D

As far as Maxis milking, I say go for it. But as a "Gamer", I say end the rein of The Sims. :)

Hmm, after looking at the Superstar info link at The Sims's website, I have to say that this expansion might very well be the best and most fun The Sims EXP ever. Although, like I said, I got bored with the series a while ago, so I seriously doubt I'll get it.

If they're still making money, go for it. But the fact that people are still buying them suprizes me. I mean that game gets boring within a week, Atleast it did for me. And every other time i try to go back i last less and less. I think the last time i tried it I lasted about 2 or 3 days with it.

However, I was Reading PC gamer, and they apparently released The Sims: The Liebermans. Although they did a review, were they serious, or is it just a joke. I don't have any inclinations to look for it on the net, but I'm just somewhat currious if someone else heard of it.
