Ive been playing this game for years, and I am playing in my first multiplayer game with 3 people on diety -

We all have launched our space ships, I was in the lead until the AI launched one that will arrive 1 turn before mine, I dont have my manual but i remember reading if you take over the capital it stops it?
Is this true?

If so Do i have to have it for a period of time, or just one turn?

If they take the city back does it restart?

Thanks for all your help!

Kill the enemy capital, and the SS will "return" to earth... in game reality, it is Kaput. Finito benito. It must be rebuilt form scratch.

Watch out... if the capital moves, you must hunt it down, too. And again. Until it does not escape. When you whack the last capital, the enemy SS will be dead ("returned").

You can let the AI have the capital back, if you want... but you must posses it at least momentarily without it making an escape. When the AI has less that 1,000 gold after your last plunder, it cannot escape anymore.

:)

They can move it even if i take it over in one turn on my turn?

Just instantly?

Yes.

If you lose your capital and have 1000g you too will be offered to move your capital instantly. So if you have an embassy with that civ, you can roughly see how many capitals you have to take. Of course they lose money due to the occupation:)

Call it "return on investment", along with any tech that you get! :D

Hmm, why can't dips/spies steal gold? If spies can plant a nuclear weapon, you think that they could pick a lock or crack a safe or something.

I've always wondered why stealing money wasn't a spy option, it should be.

I think that's good. A nation/tribe usually keep their money in a safe place, like the palace (which means you've got to capture the palace/capital to move any money out of there) or a Fort Knox.
After computers, money is kept electronically which could be hacked , but the amount is probably pretty documented and observed for that nation to lose any money.

I don't think I've ever heard of a nation loosing money because of spies stealing it:confused:
