my account name is stupid
After i choose all the game options then i launch the game, and all the terrain and stuff is black. i can see all the units and resources fine, but i cant see any of the terrain. does anyone know what to do?

could be a lot of things, but basically is a problem with the graphics card. What are your specs?
a somewhat unsatisfactory work-around is to go into the worldbuilder and give yourself the tech "Satellites"- this should reveal the whole map (but ruins some of the surprise).
For more permanent fixes, I'd recommend trying:
a) installing the official 1.09 patch
b) trying some of the other fixes listed in the stickies for this forum.
c) trying Harkonnen's unofficial patch (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=146309)
However, with an older graphics card (for example, like the integrated chips on the majority of laptops), you might be out of luck...

Also, you can go into Worldbuilder and select "Reveal Tile Mode". Then click on "Reveal all tiles" and exit Worldbuilder. As for Satellites, you lose the fun of exploration but at least you can play the game.
