I was trying a Monarch fast Domination game to get into the HoF.

So, I'm playing... and I'm playing... and it's still early, and I see a brown border in the fog pop up in about turn 12. I send a warrior to investigate, and I find that the city is empty. I declare war with my troops out of Cathy's border and take the city two turns later. Then, the very same scout that popped St. Petersburg popped another city on the other side of my capital. I went and razed that too.

Result: I got warrior code and an extra city far away because Russia was fortunate enough to pop two cities.

re: downfall of EXP trait...
One thing I've been trying lately is a warlord 5CC 100k, using the Arabs. In one attempt, after I had built my five cities, I popped three villages and one settler. boo.

How'd you manage to keep the town by Moscow? I would have thought it'd either autoraze or pop-rush a defender (if it had reached size 2 by the time you could attack).

Oh! Yeah, I see the second pile of rubble now.

Why did you not pup the huts yourself?
I did not know that they were there. My first warrior explored directly south and by the time my second warrior was produced, the first hut had already been popped. That's why I sent the second warrior to the first hut (city). Then a few turns later, in about turn 15, the second hut popped. No time for me to pop the huts.
