WELCOME TO THE WAR. All things here are written as Wikipedia articles. This isn't just one war, there are A LOT of them written here.
War in Japan
The American Civilization has risen to become the worlds leading Superpower, with Spain close behind. Diplomatic relations with the Japanese Empire and the Spanish Empire have taken a downturn in the last 100 years and the Japanese have imposed a trading embargo on the United States. After negotiations fail, and the Japanese refuse any talks at all, The United States sends an army. The 'Delhi' Pact between the US and India comes into effect and both Civ's lead the Invasion of Japan.
Battle & Neutralities
Russia and England quickly become neutral, but Spain is stuck as to whether to attack the superpower and help out the Japanese or go neutral as well. Finally they reach a decision and decide to go neutral. Japan ends it's peace treaty with Spain and imposes a trade embargo on Spain. Russia and England follow suit with America and no trading between Spain and those two nations happens. Japan attempts to have a permanent alliance with France, but France announces it's neutrality. The first offensives in the invasion are met with light resistance, only pockets of the Japanese army. India takes the Western Japanese front line and the US takes the north and east. Navy patrols are set in the seas around Japan as they notice several Japanese boats in the waters.
Battle of Kyoto
The Indian army on the Western Japan Front are met with heavy resistance coming in to take the city of Osaka. Japanese armies split the Indian army and the surviving members are sent to the Eastern front to help the American armies. Meanwhile, the Americans are getting ready to take the city of Kyoto, and settlers have built San Francisco, an overseas territory that will act as a navy patrol port. Many troops converge on Kyoto with no luck. After several more Japanese troops are sent to try to break up and demolish the armies, but are rundown, the Americans and the Indians start taking small bits of territory from the Japanese and effectively capture the city of Kagoshima.
The War Spreads
Angered by the English, Russian, French and Spanish reaction to the war, Japan decides to spread the war to other continents.
Japanese Bombing of England
The navy bombing happens and effectively Japan is at war with England. England has a very strong military and several Ironclads are sent to attack the Japanese ships, two are destroyed, but all four Japanese boats are destroyed. Japan attempts another peace talk with England with no such luck. America establishes an Embassy in England and suggest a permanent peace treaty, and, at the expense of 200 gold, England fully declares war against Japan and the 'Newcastle' pact is signed.
Battle of Kyoto (cont)
The war for Kyoto has almost completely been abandoned by the Japanese at this time. Japan, seeking military help, repeatedly asks Spain for intervention on their side. No luck. The United States and India begin Operation Simultaneous Lightning to take Kyoto once and for all. Indian forces destroy Japanese reinforcements and I can see Spain getting worried a little. Japan was a major Trading partner with Spain and If I destroy Japan, Spain will lose a major source of Income. I think now they're hoping for a sneak attack by me on them so they can find a reason to invade -- but then again they don't want to so they can have peace, trading, funding, blah blah blah.
Operation Simultaneous Lightning was a failure. I didn't realise how heavily defended Kyoto was. I'm going to build up a lot more troops and hope to god Kyoto will finally fall.
England invades
With Codename "Operation Urgent Fury" (see where I got that from? If you don't, click on the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Urgent_Fury)
Oh they invaded alright... at the wrong country. Spain and England had had some sort of an internal 'cold war' like conflict... although no actual military conflict was involved. They had been competing for ages whether it be military size, weapons, tech, etc. Spain had a small city "Grenada" (hence the Operation Urgent Fury name) on a leg of territory, albeit, isolated from the rest of Spain. England sent a massive amount of Navy and Ground Force to attack Grenada. Within two turns, Grenada had fallen, and the world was in shock. This meant, because of my alliance, I was at war with Spain. Something I didn't want. Russia and France remain neutral.
Russia tries peace talks
Kyoto has fallen into my hands. At the expense of several military units, Kyoto is down. Japan is starting to get a little worried. They're troops are heavily fortified outside Nagasaki and Hiroshima and several other cities remain on the western front where India failed me. Russia has intervened diplomatically. They made it sound like they were on Japanese side, because they said 'word of the ill-treatment of the Japanese has preceded you. Should you think to do the same to us...' etc. But I'm not worrying. I'm at peace with Russia, Allied with England, At war with Japan, unofficially at war with Spain (I donot plan to make any moves against Spain, until they attack me first.) and at Peace with France. France seems interested in Trading with me a lot. I've beefed up my Navy patrols in the sea as I've noticed, yet again, more Japanese ships in my sea area.
France becomes involved
I did not expect the Japanese to attack France. France had had nothing to do with this war and I didn't want them too. They would have provided mainly soft power, as they populated South America. I tried to stop the boat but it destroyed mine and went on to declare war against France by bombing Paris. France, In anger, sent boats filled with troops and Ironclads to invade Japan. Naturally I was angry at Japan, and America and Spain signed an alliance. England meanwhile was starting the Spain Campaign.
War comes to a close
The war in Japan has come to a close. After intensified fighting between Japanese and French forces near the Nagasaki City border, French forces withdrew and announced it's withdrawal totally from the Japanese War. England soon announced it would intensify the amount of troops in the Japanese War and began the Nagasaki Offensive to take the city of Nagasaki but soon announced it's near-total withdrawal of Japan to assist with the War in Spain (see post above). I beefed up the amount of troops the US had. Soon the Japanese army were defeated at the Nagasaki City and I launched the invasion of Nagasaki. Soon, the Japanese emperor surrendered and eventually I let the Japanese retake control of their cities and few troops were left as a peace-keeping precaution and slowly the naval and air patrols were released and peace restored in the Japanese area. Although France and England's relations with the Japanese had gone downhill severely, no war was happening with the exception of the ongoing England-Spain war.
The War in Spain
The US had offered money instead of Military troops in Spain and England accepted. Eventually the English army was driven back to Grenada after losing a major clash and Spain invaded Grenada and retook it. England was pushed out and eventually the war ended and peace was signed.
A surprise turn
Several years after the major Japanese War, Russia's nuclear capabilities took a turn for the worst when Spain had allegedly produced several Nuclear Bombs. These were proved true when one was launched at Moscow, but it was destroyed, and then the following Russian-led Invasion of Spain
happened and it was total war. Spain had not developed SDI technology and Russia launched cruise missiles at military strongholds including the now-tough Grenada, Salamanca, Seville and Madrid. The contingents involved in the Invasion of Spain include:
England
France
United States
India (financial support)
Japan (financial support)
