Come on, hokkien is a very flexible language when you can add in some foreign flavour and use it too argue with people, in very fast manner.

That it does. When I go home and attend reunions, other patrons in the restaurant would hear me and my high school buddies hamming it up, and get the impression that we were arguing. (The liberal insertion of expletives in our conversation doesn't help either. ) I dunno, it's not like we're consciously acting the part, we just speak Hokkien very earthy and rough.

One lazy Sunday afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised to see this very old movie on local TV starring a very young Chow Yun Fat, screaming: "Oh ve-ly nice!" and singing and dancing: "Tai chiong hu si gua...." Never knew this tough guy could be that silly...

If the Aliens would speak Finnish, then only speakers of Finnish at first would be able to communicate/Talk with them. 5.1 Million of those people would be in Finland, 1.1 Million in Estonia (Eesti is a very close relative language of Finnish) and the rest scattered in different places. Oh well, it's a beautiful and unique language. Too hard and useless to learn unfortenately ; useless in the sense that English would do fine, hard with that incredible 15 suffix grammar, oy.

The pronounciation of "y" of "yy" is a bit ugly though, that sound you see a lot in Korean, Chinese and such ... a sort of retracted "eh" or "i", really weird sound.

And yes Finnish is useless in the sense that you would not need it anywhere, since every adult Finn know's how to speak English.

BBC English, the English foreigners hear the most
Generalizing was necessary however, I couldn't split my language up in Dutch, Flemish, West Flemish and Limburgian either, so I only post Dutch ... the Dutch you know or heard, probably standard Amsterdam Dutch though.

Amsterdam Dutch is definitly not standard Dutch, far....far from it

My favorite is American English, German, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Portugese and Latin. I don't really dislike anything, except maybe Chinese because it sound so foreign with it's high tones. Arab is a very funny language and can sound very musical, altough you woulnd't expect that.

The Dutch most people know is probably "ABN" which is Dutch without an accent as is ruled by the elite language people. But the sound of the Dutch language in foreign ears can vary greatly Limburgian or Flemish Dutch sounds completely different from ABN. It varies so much I can't understand most Flemish dialects at all. And Limburgian Dutch is more a combination of German and Dutch and altough I can't understand it without listening very closely I think it's sound a lot prettier than standard ABN and sound more musical.
