I recently posted a thread on the worst civs to play as, and most people agreed that the US takes the prize.

As a follow up, I want to hear about experiences dealing with the most vicious, annoying, or stupid civs.

For me, the Azteks take the cake. With an agression level of 5 and those damned jaguars, nothing angers me more. Even when I have crushed 4/5 of their empire, they insist on refusing my envoy for peace.

France I'd say is the most enjoyable to play with. On every difficulty, they have proven countless times to be valuable and reliable allies.

Thanks all.

Russians, because they always grow HUGE and incredibly powerful in my games. I always get the second plays after them nomater what civ I play. :(

The US? Odd, I always find them helpful. But Russia and Germany are really starting to piss me off.

Come to think of it, they ALL are pissing me off.

Maybe the criteria for expansion civs should be to add a few polite and cooperative ones.

Babylonia.

Mr "I've got 6000 gold in my treasury" demands ivory from me. I look at my treasury, not a bean!

I refuse, hell he should pay.

Of course that means war but as he is on the other side of the planet that should be no deal. But no, very soon he "buys" every other civ that isn't Zulu (8 of them) to declare war on me.

It is emperor level, I may have no.1 score but my tech and military sux...all for one damn luxury resource he has no need of the world is at war with me. It is the equivalent of the USA spending money to get every nation in the world to bomb Japan to get Nintendo games.

I'll still win :p Unless India nukes me

I actually think the Egyptians are the worst to play against. They always seem to have more cities than I do (I hate that:mad: )and they're always moving their millions of annoying workers back and forth through my territory to get to the different parts of their empire because they settle so far away from their capital!

On the other hand, the Egyptians are one of my favorite civs to play as! :D

Egypt for me, always bothering me for ROP so they can hop across my civ and steal my land, they once built a city 2 squares from my capital, in the middle of my territory! Needless to say, they promptly got some iron in their diet :)

The Egyptians seem like my immortal enemy.

They develop a strong culture and they are always at odds with me. Damn them!

At least with the Germans you can anticipate a war early on. But the Egyptians are out there... getting smarter... building more units... making demands. They're coming for you... but you never know when!

The Egyptians made me mad my last game. I built 3 cities without any defenders (I was taking advantage of a war that was going on and didn't have anyway to get defensive units to their but did have 3 settlers available). I then proceded to bribe every other civ in the game that was worth anythingto declare war with Egypt. They are now dead and I have 3 new cities and razed 2. One of them had a wonder. Dumb Egypt.

Monarch, playing Iriquois (Random Civ).

Which ever civ i come into contact with first.... It doen't matter what type or skill lvl.. it is always the first civ i make contact with.

1: India
2: Babylon
3: Aztec

Bismarcks OK, with him you know that (and often when) he`ll attack, and he usually keeps treaties.

Hmm, the Aztecs are pretty reliable in my games, its those French you have to watch out for. Once Joan loses her hair, she acquires quite an attitude. ;)

Lincoln always breaks trade agreements, and then i get blamed for it. "Honest Abe", yeah right! I end up having to pay in lump sum for the rest of the game, while Abe sits on a pile of my imported luxuries.

Bismarck takes the prize for moronic. He has those wonderful panzers, but he always gets himself killed before they come into play. :(
