didnt know if this should be put in site feed back, or off topic, as it touches on my somtimes less then good philosophies (I've got brilliant teachers, but I'm still a teen...), but it has to do with spam, so i figured that site feedback would be better, as OT is likelly to spam this thread with stupid things, and get it deleted, so, here is my wondeful little theory :)

point one- as we all know, spammy posts are both locked, and eventually deleted by our Mods

point two- the deletion of these threads also nullify all post count additions in said thread

point three- post count is a major factor in spamming (who here wasnt eager to get 300 posts and get a custum avatar, aside from TF)

the beef of the post-

well, taking in these "facts", and using a little cheap philosiphy, i have come to the conclusion that, people who knowinglly spam a new thread into existence to get a higher post count (perhaps to gain the avatar of there dreams, unless that avatar is a dancing banana...) are not in fact spamming, as there posts will eventually be nullified- dose this mean the post in question should not be delted- nope, go ahead, I just dont think they should be admonished as severlly

spam goood

how much should it be shortend then?

okay, i thought it meant 5 written lines.... I'll change a bit later if thats Okay with you- I have things to attend to a little later...

If a spam falls in the forrest, does it make a noise?

That's not quite what Bishop Berkely asked, I think it was about a tree, but the answer at CFC is I think, NO. Spamming for post count does not normally work. Your Moderators see to that, almost all the time. I almost wrote your friendly moderators, then decided that this thread would certainly be considered spam if I did. Almost all discussions of Mods is spam. Have you noticed? Ot at the very least, the thread gets closed. And of course they are right, there is no point going there. How many angels can dance on the head of a pin? Or is it Mods?

Huh? You're saying that since the posts will eventually be deleted, they shouldn't be deleted?

take it how you want too, its a philosophical point, and your meant to come to your own conclusions about it- I just like my title :D

No. I will type the CFC position very slowly to make it easy to read.

Spam baaadddd. Poster not do bad spam thing, or maybe ban thing will happen to poster.

All threads will eventually be archived and deleted anyways, a few years down the road. Notice how the very senior posters are slowly losing PC over time.

We're just hastening the process a little... :) :mischief:

hmmmmm, never noticed that before- dose that mean, lets say that I stopped going to CFC tomorrow, didt vist for 3 years, then came back, and had no posts to my name, would I still have a custum avatar & title?

IIRC, yes, you would. Don't know if you'd be able to change them though.

BTW, why are old threads archived and deleted? I like going back and viewing the site's early history.

To save space.

'Tis unfortunate that it has to happen, but server space isn't free. :)

lets have a fund raiser so we can buy CFC a full server hardware thing- we then can have a share in a complete new server cobglomerate as we rent out the the extra space to other sites- instead of banning people, mods can threaten to "nullify there share", if they have one

Oh well, perhaps they can selectively choose old spam threads that have little meaning...I still want to be able to see the site's history.

My new and improved sig has now been mod approved! :)
