There needs to be a unit between the Musketman and the Rifleman. The Musketman in Civ IV is the type of soldier before the 1700s. And the Rifleman is the type of soldier used in the late 1850s. There's a type of soldier that was used between the 1700-1850 timeperiod, that I'm sure you're all familiar with once you recognize it, the Fusilier. Fusiliers were used in the American Revolution, Napoleonic Wars, etc. They actually look a lot like the Redcoats.

Is there any unit like this being made, or has anyone made it?

IIRC the Redcoat looks exactly like those pictures you have. Just give it team color and you should be fine. AlazkanAssassin did that in this thread http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=166690.

That's what was done for the Continental Regulars for the American Revolution scenario right? I haven't played that in a long time so I forgot. In that case I'll try to do it myself and make it availible to every civ, just for the experience.

Here are a number of units made for the 15-18th Centuries.
All are heavily teamcolored
These go well with my previously posted pikemen units
Edit: I've added two cavalry units in the 12th post!

The files are as such:
Arquebusier: Redcoat with no bayonet
Chasser: rifleman with musket
Fusilier: Rifleman with bayonet
Guard: Redcoat with Grenadiers Head
Light Infantry: Rifleman with Grenadiers Head
Smoothbore: Brass cannon with teamcolored cannoneer
Sword: Redcoat with sword

Instructions: Source documentation and sample xml.

This one right? I know it might seem like a dumb question since the names are the same but he might have used a different name for the type of unit I'm looking for. Also what do you mean the Continental Regulars didn't have teamcoloring? They were still copies of the Redcoats, except blue right?

there are brown, red and blue coated people in that scenario. im pretty sure none of them had team colors. if youre going to make the unit for everyone, take the redcoat from the regular game file (the UU for england) so they will all have team colors. the redcoat actually has very little team coloring though so youll probably want to add more as well as change the red coat to somethign a bit more subdued and generic. in my mod which spans 1600-1750 ive used a reskinned redcoat with a different hat as an earlier fusilier. the hat hes wearing is just too "1776" imo =P
