Idea is to post strategies/tactics the AI used here in a form like I posted below

I will start rigth away:

I was playing Germany and had a War vs Rome and it was pretty devestating for them as I had tech/money/production/military Advantage  even had about 2 dozen :nuke: (didnt use them though)

I had allready taken 4 of their magor cities, including their Capital and their Holy City (2 different) and they stood no chance vs my Modern Tanks and Stealth Bombers (they had mostly Infantrie, even a few Praetorians  )

I was approaching one their last large Cities, which also had TONS of Naval Units in it and a good dozen Units ... so I started Bombing them and then moved a stack of 10-20 Tanks and a few Helicopters next to their City, I end turn

then I see the AI "evacuate" :crazyeye: the City, them moving all their Naval Units and even some ground Units out of the City (loaded on ships since it was the only way to escape) leaving back only 3 weak Units in the City

Maybe Civ 4 is like Civ 3, in that a civ can survive without cities, as long as it still has a settler somewhere. Did you notice if Rome moved a settler into a transport?

Nope, they got rid of that. In one of my games there was a settler running around. I killed his last city without killing his settler and it destroyed their civ.

In the late game, the AI will research Rocketry early, and start building Apollo Program to go for a space race victory. Won't trade the tech either - if you mouse over it in the trade screen to find out why it won't trade, it says "I'd rather win this game"

The AI is a lot more aggressive about blockading ports (to rpevent you from using sea-based tiles) and pillaging within your borders.

Holy Dunkirk, Batman! Looks like we have actual artificial intelligence here.

Another AI thing I'd like to find out.

in the late middle ages in the normal game, I have equal units to the AI, and am keeping up in tech (90 or 100% on the tech slider). Shortly after Cavalry, come the more advanced units in quick succession (infantry, SAM infantry, Mech Inf.).

The AI always seems to upgrade to these extremely quickly, without even slowing its tech rate. If I try to upgrade my units, I have to lower my tech slider, which really hurts the research potential. While I'm mostly still on Cavalry, the AI has mech inf. with jet aircraft around its cities. Makes it pretty much impossible at that point to try for anything other than diplo or space race win.

I think some of the National Wonders really help to boost building of units in a specific city, and this helps the AI really crank out the units in the later stages.

I've seen the AI do this, but in each case they pulled out so many units that I was able to take a city that would otherwise be secure. It wasn't an evacuation -- it was a boneheaded attempt at amphibous assault. While they shipped their best units over to my continent (only to be slaughtered by my TRANSPORTS on the high seas) I was able to deafeat the rabble left behind and advance into their core. I think the AI you saw was accidental intelligence (doing the right thing for the wrong reasons), not artificial intelligence.

i like the new way you can just teck your way up to gun's without do anything else like religion, my riflemen vs your crossbow at any time hhaha.
