With Civ4, I'm much better off. All I have to do is muster enough will power when I'm leaving work to deliberately leave the laptop locked up and then I can't play that night.

I can also remember that back to CIV 2 I did drive my hole family crazy during a war against the mongols, they attack me with maybe 150 War Elepahnts and nobody could hear another "erherhrehhr" (sound of charging elephant).
White Elk said:This game is getting the best of me as well. As much as I was motivated to watch the SuperBowl (my favorite team and my home team were both competing), I ended up missing most of the first half to the infamous 'one more turn syndrome'. And I've still yet to play a single game of AOEIII, which I preordered at the same time as CivIV. I really want to play AOEIII, but I just want to play CivIV even more. And then the amount of sleep I've missed over the last few months on account of this game is incalculable. It's even interferred with my ability to seek out self employement oppurtunities which is crucial to my sense of freedom.
Yes CivIV is getting the best of me, and as such it is the best game I have ever played! I look forward to many more hours of CivIV with a masochistic joy. I've been bitten and there is no going back.
