last night i played until 6:00am, went to bed and got up 45 minutes later for work!:crazyeye:

Lunch break? That's when I get my sleep for the day!

Yep, it happens to everyone, it is just the natural course of events.:)

Lunch break is when I run home to play another 30-40 minutes. Good thing I only live 5 minutes from work.

I'm glad I have more self-discipline. I'd like to play more, though, but I'm quite busy lately. I also have Resident Evil 4 that I need to play, though.

I remember, clear as day, playing a Civ2 game into the deep, deep parts of the night. I finished at around 2AM or so, rubbed my bleary eyes, gazed back at the screen and said to myself, "let's start a new game."

With Civ4, I'm much better off. All I have to do is muster enough will power when I'm leaving work to deliberately leave the laptop locked up and then I can't play that night.

:)

I use civ4 to distract myself from the sound of my roommate talking to his guild on Final Fantasy XI, but it doesn't work so well.

This game is getting the best of me as well. As much as I was motivated to watch the SuperBowl (my favorite team and my home team were both competing), I ended up missing most of the first half to the infamous 'one more turn syndrome'. And I've still yet to play a single game of AOEIII, which I preordered at the same time as CivIV. I really want to play AOEIII, but I just want to play CivIV even more. And then the amount of sleep I've missed over the last few months on account of this game is incalculable. It's even interferred with my ability to seek out self employement oppurtunities which is crucial to my sense of freedom.

Yes CivIV is getting the best of me, and as such it is the best game I have ever played! I look forward to many more hours of CivIV with a masochistic joy. I've been bitten and there is no going back.

I skipped losing my virginity for this game.

*giggles* That one made me laugh out loud. :)

yesterday i wanted an early night. At 11 just before turning off my computer i only wanted to check the techtree to see what is needed for spacerace (i just have the game a week and never played civ before). I ended up playing untill 4 AM :S
In the one week i have the game i already played 9 games, each lasting many hours.

Yes!!! Let´s start a new one!

I can also remember that back to CIV 2 I did drive my hole family crazy during a war against the mongols, they attack me with maybe 150 War Elepahnts and nobody could hear another "erherhrehhr" (sound of charging elephant).

"I'll come to bed in just a minute, honey, just let me finish this turn."

And then, two hours later...

Ah, the sound of Civ2 war elephants. It's permanently burned into my memory. I hear it in my dreams... and so does the rest of my family.

do you remember dragoons as well?

I fed my newborn baby girl her bottle with one hand while playing civ with the other. Staying up late for feedings became an excuse to play! Sure honey you go ahead and go to bed I will sacrifice my sleep for you. Hehehe, time to kill the Aztecs!

I paid $50 for CivIV, I have paid over $300 in cab fare to get to work on time, because I stayed up playing CivIV waaaaaay too late...

^^

Yup I often miss handing in assignments for night school because I play Civ instead of homework........... I think that I am going to have to go cold turkey for a month or so (uninstall...[sigh])...

My baby girl goes to bed at 7, and gets up at 5am. This leaves me from 7-12 to play, then 5 hours to sleep. Then I go to work from 9-5. It is a grueling schedule, but Civ waits for no man.

I love Civ and all but.... how the hell could you miss half of the Super Bowl when it was JB's last and biggest game of his career AND in his hometown.

Yes, moving on. Usually when I play Civ the hours melt away and I end up getting pissed I spent an entire day playing a map I probly will restart the next day.
