I'm playing in a Sengogu (sp?) conquest game in Monarch. I play as Oda Nobunaga and start out nicely. I end up become very powerful at the end of the second period (cann't remember the name). I also got every wonders including the Great Library. After I get the GL, I put my research slider down to 0%. BTW, before this, I traded few techs with others for a lot of golds. Anyway, I begin to mass up my military and check my neighbours every few turns. After 30-40 turns later, the Mori declare war on me and drag everyone to war with me (which is fine). But when I open a dialog to sue for peace with the Mori (+ some golds). I was very much surprised to see that they have 29000+ golds!!! How can they have that much golds? I'm the one who have the GL and pay for no research and lux tax at all and I only get about 300 gpt (which is rather normal for the numbers of cities I got and I focus more on building yamabushi and mounted samurai at this point). I only have about 3000 golds (I spent few thousands in rushing buildings but still this is weird). I don't understand how can Mori have that much gold. They only have about 8-10 cities, no Wonders and nothing special. Is this a bug???

There is a bug which doubles income from GpT-trades in the first version of Conquests, but assuming you use the latest patch this shouldn't be the reason.I think the Mori are simply the techleader and play the banker strategy - they sell some of there techs to the other AI tribes (until they are bankrupted) and get a high GpT income per turn, which is even higher then their science spending. So they pile up gold...best to do is conquering there cities and get the gold :D

Cool I got an I idea, take a city and give it back continuosly untill you have all thier money and buy lost of

You can't give back their city unless you also make peace with them. So, you could do that, it's just you would have a horrible reputation afterwards.

I'm actually the tech leader (equal to Mori) and other factions are mostly bankrupted by me trading techs with them. I cannot see how can Mori have so much golds just after 30-40 turns??? I checked again and other factions have at most 100 golds (many of them have less than 10-20 golds). There is something weird going on with the Mori for sure.

What version are you using? There's a double-gpt bug in 1.00 that often caused bloated gold totals.
