i almost never go for The Louvre, but i was in an Emperor game as Rome on pangea and i was in a war with Catherine. her borders were starting to bleed toward mine and i couldnt buy any of the tiles to prevent her from taking my road (too far from a city and the other border was a puppet). i started the Louvre hoping to get the 2 artists for a culture bomb if she took that road. plus i had one spot of my own that would let me CB and get 5 tile of hers and cut off 3 of her cities from her capitol.
well, her borders indeed took my road, and i finished the Louvre and used one to get them back (didnt know there was a 7 turn wait on CB with a 2nd one) and 7 turns later took her 5 tiles and trade route with it. it was pretty cool to take so many tiles with one CB. Plus, even though we were already at war her angry screen came up saying that i was just asking for a war on both bombs, haha.
edit: this was also my first effort at going for the stealth bomber. i got a dom vic in 1916, pretty good for a terrible dom vic player. a) i now know SB's are really awesome and b) i now know its freaking hard to get a unit into an isolated capitol to actually take it. i wasted about 30 turns trying to figure out how to strategically get there. i also learned paratroopers can only parachute when starting in friendly territory.
