Xuanzong
Empress Wu (Wu Zhao. Players of Civ II may remember her.)
Yongle
Taizong (also known as Li Shimin)
Kangxi
Chiang Kai-shek (written in Pinyin as Jiang Jieshi)
None of these have the same kind of name recognition as Mao Zedong has, aside from Chiang Kai-shek, but then Catherine the Great is probably less well-known than Stalin, but that didn't stop them from dropping Stalin (who, like Mao, should never have gotten in in the first place.)
Those with more knowledge of Chinese history than I have would probably point to some of those and say, "What are you, crazy? That would be a terrible choice, because. . . ." But then, that's what this debate is about. Those who don't like my options are free to tell us whom they would prefer. (Or defend Mao, I suppose, if they can.)
