Time for a Mod of all Mods?

Apparently there are several very interesting mods out there, but there seems to be a problem: Everybody and his mother is making a different mod! I wouldn't call that "bad", or "counterproductive", but if the individual efforts carry on, we won't see any really comprehensive big-time total conversions of the game like RAR, TAM, Rhye's etc for Civ3.

Maybe, and I am just throwing around an idea, it would be a very good thought to combine mods into one. When I find some time I'll combine three of my most loved mods (lost units, lost wonders, superciv) into one, and add a couple modifications myself (in the spirit of a longer, more epic game with lotsa turns in every era - there are already a couple mods doing that, but they also alter many other game parameters). Perhaps also the leaders mod, and the religion mod ain't ruled out of course.

I would've already done so, but time is limited as it is. There are many people though who'll never do that, although they'd love to (lack of time, of modding ability or anything else).

So, I am asking the respective modders of those fantastic mods if they could go together and offer us "a mod of all mods".

And what if some guys don't want all mods in one? ....

I think we got to face the fact that we would never get a mod wich serves all wishes...
 
I think one problem is everyone has their own vision of what they want and are mostly just playing around seeing how things can be changed at the moment.
Wait a while and such things will become reality as projects get bigger and more complex
 
You haven't seen my mod then. It's rather nice n' big and juicy. I'm just developing it mostly on the Apolyton forums. It has roughly 14 new buildings, new missionary units for the holy cities (from the Faith mod), quite a few gameplay tweaks, and soon a new cultural model that will make the culture side of things much more interesting.

how about joining in on the realism mod and combining it whit superciv realfort lostwonderunits??

that is the "modher" of all mod so far :)
 
Right, I say we do it. So far on my own computer I combined Morly's, Slower Tech and Balance, and the Realism Mod except I took the musket resource out of the realism. Took me a few hours only, except I dont know how to edit Python, so there were a few problems there.
 
It would be good to have some very big mods. I am working on space wars and it would be good to make it very big. So if anyone is interested, I can combine it with another similar mod to have a better one. Another thing I tought is that it could be combined with a normal (stone age to modern era) and big mod, there could be a mod thet would last from the first humans to the end of the universe...
