Time for Sox fans to worry yet?

Well, only 3.5 back now. Amazing month too, 21-7. That's .750 if my calculations are correct. I would enjoy seeing them keep this pace going for the last month, especially if the Yankees keep falling over their feet.

.750. And I get to travel and see them. And I see them lose one of those games. To the Tigers. Yeesh. :)

Yep, and things don't seem to be slowing down for us* and the Yankees aren't doing too well. (I know when the Yankees are doing badly because all the media here would be saying that "we are still in the lead" instead of "we are going to lose them") I wish after the Angels series the Angels start to pick up their game. :D

*I used "us" because the Mets are pretty much out of the running. :(

You can't count on an Indian massacre every night, but 22-0 was very nice to see :D

Things are looking up. Schilling is pitching better, the IR is starting to empty; while down in the Bronx the mediocre pitching and defense continues.

Boy wouldn't that be something - catch the Yanks and have the Angels catch thm too...

Course that would spoil the fun of beating them ourselves. :D

*comes back to reality*

I'm just happy we're beating the Angels and the Rangers are stumbling just in time to come to town.

The big series starts today... I'm ready. New avatar and all.

....except the first two games may get rained out. :(

Then it will be wacky trying to fit them both in somewhere. I haven't really looked at the schedules, but I know they don't have any common days off....

Boston really need to take 4 or 5 of the six to have a good shot at the division. We can't count on the Yankees stumbling anymore down the home stretch.

Bah! It would be better just to let them play in the rain! Seriously.

That would be quite a show. :)

Unfortunately, baseball and it's players are wimps, by and large.

This is the Red Sox big chance to knock off the ghost of miseries past, can
they do it? :scan: I think Boston has the better all-around team but the
Yanks always 'have their number' :mischief: .

Boston's gotta take it one game at a time right now.... honestly they have to beat the Yankees now everytime they play them if they want a shot at the division.... and they have to play the Yankees .500 to keep the wild card safe
this should be one of the better series of the year, definitely one im looking forward to watching..

If Red Sox can knock out the Yankee starter before the sixth inning, they are very well doing, considering the Yankees only have three decent relievers. And it wouldn't exactly be hard to do with the way the Yankee's starters are.

I know it's been asked before, somewhere, sometime, but what do you call a single member of the Red Sox? And how do you spell it?

I don't know that it can be referred to in the singular like that.....

He plays for the Red Sox.....
He's the best starter the Sox have....

It's always referred to in the team sense, at least around here. ;)

Well, here, people say things like "He's a former Yankee".

Do you say "He's a future Yankee"? ;) (For he's a former Red Sox player)

No, around here we say "he used to play for the Sox"....

Although I would guess it would be Red Sock, but that just seems strange.

Future Yankee - ha ha. Down with the Evil Empire!!!

Well, we won the first one. I was not breathing at all in the top of the 9th inning, and I was following the ball from Rivera's hand to the plate in slow motion it seemed. :crazyeye:

When I proceeded to jump for joy, I realized that the room was so messy that I had no room.

I was trying to watch with my idiot friend who was falling asleep.

Unlike other years, I actually expected us to win dramatically. Weird.....

BTW - Yanks are something like 59-2 when leading after 8. Then there is those other two games...

I know that Mariano Rivera is like 14-22 against the Sox in save opportunities, but wow.

Of course we all know what the other game is.

Oh man! :wallbash: There goes the 2nd game of the series... 14-3 Yanks in the 9th! Sox didn't even get a hit until... the 7th inning, or something?!

Show 'em up tomorrow, Red Sox! :)
