This is a Tiny map of Western Middle Earth that I've created for Conquests. It is based mainly on the maps found at the back of the paperback edition of the Lord of the Rings, with some reference to a couple of topology maps I downloaded off the web. It is about as accurate as the granularity of a Tiny map will allow, though my distribution of grassland/plains/desert is reasonably creative as I wasn't able to find any easy-to-follow references to guide me in this area.
I've set this map up with 8 civilizations:
- Gondor
- Arnor
- Rohan
- Dunland
- The Shire
- Elves
- Dwarves
- Orcs
The rules have not been changed in any way except to customise these civilisations. I've borrowed heavily from the Middle Earth mod for the city and great leader names - thanks! - I trust this is OK. The heads of each civilisations are almost all characters from the book, which I realise are generally not accurate as leaders, but in this way the world vaguely represents western Middle Earth at the start of the fourth age. Also, I know nothing about Dunland or the Dunlanders, so this civilisation got all the Hittite city/leader names, because I based them on the Hittites.
Anyway, have a look, have a play - let me know what you think! All comments and suggestions welcome.
