Tired of game crashing because of mods, so..

so which mod do you recommend. Looking for a mayor mod that does lots of what these smaller mods do. My game just keeps crashing and I don't want to play loads of turns of the same game to find out which mod does it. I am not looking for a fantasy or sci-fi mod, but looking for a total conversion mod
