We pretty much know for certain that TNT is going for the Great Library. They would have already started the pre-build and are looking to get a GA with their immo's so they can research writing and lit quicky. We also know via KISS and also our curragh that they have built mines on hills near Carpetbomb, which also need a GA to get 3 shields from them, because under Despotism they can only get 2.

Apart from repelling TNT's raids on our territory our other objective would be to stop the GL from being built. This is TNT's weakness, they have sacrificed research in order to get gold for upgrades for their immo's, which has left them far behind us and the other 2 teams technologically. They are gambling on building the GL to catch up so they can divert all their resources into the war with us.

Clearly if we can stop them from building the GL, then we will win the war by default. We have two options at the moment to try and stop them building the GL.

1. After this initial offensive by TNT we lauch an immediate counter offensive against Carpetbomb, which seems the most likely place for a GL pre-build. By razing Carpetbomb we would kill the pre-build. From there we keep on the offensive to not give them time to attempt another one.

2. We stay on the defensive and start a GL pre-build of our own in Crunch. Any resources we can spare will go to Crunch to speed up the build. We also research Lit as fast as possible. We also have to try to get our GA without triggering theirs to get the advantage in construction. By building the GL we lock out TNT and also gives us the oppertunity to divert more resources into fighting the war.

Both tactics have their risks, but we must fully commit to one of them to have a chance at succeeding, as we don't have the resources to do both together, nor do i think it would be wise to let TNT get the GL without a fight.

But our military is so small how can we stop the invading forces, let alone invade and burndown their citys.

DESTROY TNT!!! We don't have enough forces yet.;) TNT probably has 5 or more Immortals ready to destroy us. We can build up our defenses now and wait for how ever many immortals to come and cut through us or we could build up our army get tons of MWs and do an ambush on TNT. Our MWs could easily kill their Immortals and vice versa. our two move gives us an advantage as does the run away skill. Therefore build 10 MWs send a few of our warriors to lure and spy on TNT, once they are in range we strike and massacre them all. As for defenses send 2 warriors to do the spying/luring and the rest come home for defense. All cities should build MWs.

Seriously - they have a large city, with a prebuild allready running, and optimized for production.
I don`t see any way how we could win the race to the GL.

Exactly, we really don't have a chance for the GL so why not destroy their chances at getting the GL and destroy them at the same time.

Yes, TNT would definately be ahead on the pre build, however they neither have writing or literature, so we arn't out of the race. And to defend we would need less units then to attack

But think about it, we don't seem to be planning on making peace soon. So TNT no doubt will want to destroy us. When they send a bunch of Immortals to us, and we are busy building the GL or a pre build in our best city while our others are struggling to get one spearman. TNT on the other hand has Immortals cutting us down, a pre build in their best city and most likely some defenses. Forget the GL, build basic defenses, build MWs and try to destroy the Persian War Machine before they can destroy us.

I didn't have in mind springfield for the prebuild, i was think crunch as it is behind the front lines. Also if we are purely defending then we don't need extra units for attacking purposes. It take 15+ turns for TNT to bring their units down to us, so we will have more time to reinforce then what they do, plus we have the advantage of our MW having the extra MP, so we don't have to engage in direct battles, so we shouldn't lose as many units as they do.

Solid plan. However, do you really think Crunch can beat TNT to the GL? We don't know what city TNT is building the pre-build or the GL in, but it is most likely their capital or a productive city. BTW, are we sure TNT is even building the GL?

With a bit of help it can, TNT still has to research writing and lit to get the GL. We of course can't be 100% certain they are going for a GL pre build, it just the logical conclusion. They have not discover a single tech since they declered war and that was turn 37, a full 23 turns ago! If there not doing a pre-build then they are dumber then we could have ever imagined. I doubt they would be doing it in their capital, as they would want the majority of production to go to immo's, my bet would be one of the two cities on the coast as they are far away and they have built mines their ready for a GA.
