Maybe this doesn't suit for this forum, but oh well... i am wondering, how the hell you guys out there manage to jot down every happenings every turn?

i tried just now and 30 turns into the game, i feel like killing myself... morever, there's so much screenshots that come along...

i really wonder how you guys can keep such momentom going on while the game is pretty fast pace .

ps: i find the game fast pace because i play the game with objective, but i move my stuffs quickly and make very quick decision while sticking to an objective...

however, just now when i tried to jot down each turns happening, i really lost my tempo and needless to say, mess up... hahaha

so i am wondering... story tellers out there, how do you guys do it?

Well, some people use pen and paper, others use notepad running along with Civ3. But I suspect that you're asking how do they keep the stamina up to do it? Well, some people are born documentors. Others have learned to document everything. As for the plethora of screenies, I would guess that they only take screenies for important points. But then, I don't document, so I don't know.

Well, first of all you should have a passion for writing.. :)
Otherwise it'll just get boring after a while, and you'll quit your story.

Most people who write stories finds that it improves their game, both in fun factor and with regards to their strategies/skills in Civ. By writing down your progress you learn and remember more about your game, and you also care more.

Anyway, the way I do it:
I use notepad and PSP 8, running in the background - so I can just Alt+TAB to write or paste a screenshot.

While playing, I write very short notes on any occurence that's big enough to get mentioned. Like for example:

2000B - San Francisco founded
1280 - found spices near New York
1000 - San Diego foudned
800 - Japan declares war w/ 8 unit in my terr (scr)
etc etc.
The (scr) means I've got a screenshot of the event - saved with the same name as the event, in this case it'll be 800bc.jpg.

So, in the morning, before I go to work, I mail my screenshots and the notepad document to my work e-mail address, and write up the full story at work, when there's nothing else to do. If you've got some extra time when at work, this is an excellent tip :)

i think i can write better as a summary instead of going into details... i am a fast player, that's why i find detailings pretty cumbersome....

I just use a pen & paper. I abbreviate things (for example, instead of saying, "Spices found near New York" I say "Sp @ NY") For screenshots I usually have to stop everything for them, but it's okay with me because I think it's a good idea to stop the game and post about it often to let people comment on it.
