List the CD that you liked or loved but heard too often.

For me it's No Doubt's "Tragic Kingdom." (Which I liked but did not love...) You may as well not have bought the CD, because every freakin' song on it was played on the radio a million times. Yet -- everyone I know owned it... ?!?

That never happened to me. If I really liked (or even loved) a CD I would still listen to it today. Of course there have to be breaks, but I'd not say I'd never want to listen to it again.

And I don't listen to the radio...

Seven Nation Army, by the White Stripes, is getting a little played out. Its the number one rock single, IIRC. I love the song, but its played too much.

I'd say Elephant is getting played too much, but only two songs from it (out of a total of 14) have been played alot on the local radio.

Too true. I hear "Seven Nation Army" every time I turn on the radio...

(I still like it though.)

My wife owns Tragic Kingdom. Bought it before we met. I have basically stolen it from her because I love it and she is somewhat bored with or sick of it.

That's the key. I hardly listen to the radio at all, so I can still enjoy the songs that got too much airplay.

I listen to an indie radio station (campus radio) so they never play mainstream music, and I dnt think Ive ever heard a song twice on the station.

Evanescence - Bring Me To Life gets waaaaay to much time. It's a decent enough song but it's on far to much.

The radio blows. You hear 2 or 3 "good" songs of a band's cd and you either download those off Kazaa or buy the cd and skip the rest. A lot of people don't do it, but too many i know do. A band isn't good if they just have one good song. I used to listen to the radio when i was around 12-14, all i knew about music was the music they played. It didn't matter what station it was cuz all the same songs were played, not a lot of difference. Then i bought a cd of Gorillaz, simply for the two singles they played all the time on the radio. The rest of the album was nothing like the two singles but i loved it anyway. I learned you can't just listen to the radio singles. It pisses me off when people say they love a band when they've only heard one or two singles. Anybody share this view?

There's a song that I absolutely abhor.

It starts out with the line "This is the story of a girl". I don't know the rest of the lyrics, I don't know the title, I don't know who the song is by. But it seems that it is the first thing on everybody's playlist and that it has been used in more commercials, movie trailers, and TV show opening credits than any other song in history.

If I hear it one more time, which I likely will within in the next 24 hours, I will scream.

Agreed entirely. Even rock and non-pop stations play the same songs over and over. I only have two college radio stations near me - one plays annoying nu-metal, the other plays too many different things to listen to. :(

I own Tragic Kingdom. ;)

Here, on the "rock" station, they keep playing the same damm lifehouse song. I don't know it's name, but it starts with a screetching sound. Horrible song.

On the pop stations, almost every song is repeated. I've had it happen a few times where two different pop stations are playing the same moment of the exact same song (in this case the Michel Branche song about eyes).

Course, I do Stairway to Heaven on the radio, and that does not disturb me too much. ;)

Thats what I was going to say.

Californication - RHCP

The Wall - Pink Floyd. One of my very favorite albums. I don't listen to it anymore because I hear Another Brick, Pt 2 all the time on the classic rock channels. Which is sad, because as good as another brick is, it's just one good song of many on that album.
