Tools for using DOS Colonization

Hi there!

I am playing colonization with Dfend and dosbox, updated to v3.0 which is the latest if I am correct. I figure that I could use quite a few tools. For example, I am sure that all Indian information is stored in the savegame, so (theoretically) there could be an application that tells me or even prints me the visited indian locations, skill, and tradable goods. No cheating what I mean just relieve me from the tedious write up and or impossible remembering...

Any ideas?

Don't they change skills and goods occasionally? Especially the Indian Capitals? I swear I've scouted them, it said they'd train Farmers (hooray!) and when I get there with a colonist (or 5), it says Ore Miner!
I couldn't get DosBox to work, but eventually found a copy of Colonization that was fixed to run in WinXP :)

Wouldn't it be great to be able to right click on a village you've visited to see who they can train. I don't know of any application that will do that unfortunately so I have to write it down. Mostly it stays the same for the whole game, just occasionally I go to a village to find the skills on offer are different from my list but it doesn't happen very often.

Well, I never saw the skill changing but certainly heard about this happening occasionaly. Anyway, it is still playable and after you are set up and you have at least one of every profession it's no big deal...

Just that it would be nice to have a program that reads save files.

I didn't think a native settlement would teach any of your colonists more than once. They say 'we already shared our knowledge with you' or something.

The capital (marked with a yellow star thingy) teaches you as many times as you like.
