I've followed all the patch instructions I can find, and run K-Light to make sure the codecs are active, but as soon as I get to the world building stage, ToT crashes to desktop. Same thing happens if I try to start the Midgard scenario. This system started as a windows 10 system, and I had no issue then, but since it updated to 11, I cannot play ToT. I am having the same issue on my tower, which was built as a Win 11 system. Neither system has an integrated cd-rom, but I am not getting any warnings about cd missing.

Any help?

Welcome!
When you say all patch instructions are you just talking official patches or fan patches too? Cause ToT will crash on modern 64bit OS's without the 64bit fan patch applied.
Although that crash normally happens before world building when you try to name your ruler so this might be something else. I noticed someone else posting about a crash during world building here.. although they were talking about MGE on Win 11 I think..

Yeah. I've run the patch in that thread. And I think it is the same issue. Heck, I even renamed the intro.avi as intro.tmp and it still crashes to desktop at the same point. No crash log, so there is nothing to use to figure it out.

I've posted about this thread over in the other one. Maybe FoxAhead will be able to work it out or if not maybe someone else will develope a workaround as it becomes a bigger issue with more and more people switching to Win 11.
In the meanwhile all I can suggest is a VirtualBox VM with an older version of windows on it. Sucks, but may be the only workaround for now until this issue is identified and resolved which could take time.

Microsoft allows anyone to download Xp's iso.

There's an excellent tool on the net to activate xp without internet connexion (gives a code we could receive by phone at the time)

Yes I know you did hence why over in your other thread I said "could be another new issue in play out there that doesn't happen to everyone with Win 11 but is clearly happening to some.." for all the good it did lol..

We've had 2 people recently talking about this issue now and presumably they'll be more coming so if we can somehow figure out what they have or are doing that's different to you and others having no problems on Win 11 then we can make it a non-issue. Hopefully it's the later in that they're just doing something different meaning nothing needs to be patched.
