Some suggestions :

Start the game in 10000 BC instead of 4000 BC...

Take the mod wich allows Barbarians to have no penality against human or AI players...
To have very dangerous barbarians to start...

Add new Civs, there is a mod that adds new civs by big packs...

Add Thalassicus Combined Balance Mod

Add Emigration Mod

Replace "Prehistoric" by "Stone Age"
You could start in Stone Age in 50000 BC, then have Neolithic in 10000 BC, then have Bronze Age in 5000 BC, and Iron Age in 2000 BC, then Antiquity in 500 BC...

Another idea : take the mod with allow to see friendly, neutral or pleased in diplomacy window...

Could be good additions to your mod ?

Played V3 yesterday and for some reason I cannot save the game. There is no option save/load anything. Do I need to enable something to get it to work.

Also noticed that I had to research the same technology twice in some cases and when trying to choose a new technology it didn't show all the options and I had to view technology tree to choose alternative techs to research.

Cool mod, keep it going...
 
This mod isn't working for me I choose to activate it but then when I start the game it says I can reasearch Future tech at the start of the game and there are 3 fire technologies. Whats happening and how can I fix it?

I play in Spanish, and I manually corrected the error in the Spanish civilization, but not in the technologies ..
I simply switch to correct the file Civ_Spain.xml:
<Language_en_EN> Change it to: <Language_es_ES> and translated the text.
But there remains the problem:
- Text of Technology
- Music for Civilization (even if the other civilization ..)
Appreciate the collaboration!

Yo juego en español, y he corregido manualmente el error en la civilizacion española, pero no en las tecnologias..
Yo para corregirlo simplemente cambie el archivo Civ_Spain.xml:
<Language_en_EN> lo cambie por: <Language_es_ES> y traduje el texto.
Pero aun queda el problema de:
- Texto de las Tecnologias
- Musica para Civilizacion (aunque fuese la de otra civilizacion..)

Glad you like it. I will add support for french and spanish in my next release. If you are in a giving mood you can also contribute by provifing a translation. Keep the good work! I've always enjoyed the idea of ancient times since Rise of Mankind in Civ 4.

I know that the mod is far form being finished so I'll skip any comment regarding more complex changes, but, since I'm in this very moment reading a great book about archeology, here some toughts I think could help:

- evidences of fire manipulation was found up to 1.5 million years ago, so the fire tech should be the "free tech" wich you start with, not needed to be researched (even with 1 science cost...)

- the same applies to stone tools, but they're even older than fire. What you should change is the name of the tech to something like refined stone tools. It seems that mankind as a whole had developed this technique everywhere, and by 10.000 BC it was almost universal. I think that's where you should be able to build your first combat unit.

- adding wood working was a good idea, but 1) it was also done for hundreds of thousands of years, so you may call it something else to reflect a greater and more efficient use of wood, perhaps wood shelters? 2) you could add a palisade building in this tech, so early on we have one more option of building 3) seems obvious that since man can chop trees you could clear woods, but I think that at this stage man couldn't tear down whole areas of trees, and that's what the forest tiles represents. I recommend that you move this ability to a different tech, like bronze working 4) you could later on make this tech a requisite to work forests and jungles...

- The starting age, as previously suggested, should be earlier. But to determine the date we shouldn't pay attention only to these technologies reflections or even the cool caveman scenario, but he fact that you start with a settler that founds a city, and since the first cities found were dated from around 9.000 BC, I think that 10.000 BC would be excellent.

I could say more, but I know I may already had sounded annoying to some people... But I feel that this mod can become excellent! I truly hope that a team is formed to help blaze (I'm no programmer) with graphics and other resources that maybe he doesn't have.

Oh, and you should consider what balance mods you should integrate with the mod, because the default economy and building costs sucks!

Here is the file, you can open it up in "Notepad" and edit it.

The only words you need to change are between "<Text>" and "</Text>"

When you're done you can just post it back up and i will put in the changes.

I did some more testing without any other mod activated:
* maybe the (random) starting technologies depend on the race played
* early research often grants more than on technology (try researching farming as Ramses)
Sorry I can't be more precise, but that whole Civ V modding environment is soooo cumbersom ...
 
Ok, already done, but I've seen several problems:

"The letter N: Heavily used in my language, but for some reason in the edition does not leave me no use ..
-Swamp: image fails
-Music Spain: I have not been able to run the music "Europe" and now my civ testing has no sound (jajajaja..)

When I add my own ringtone GameText.xml file, not accept it, maybe I'm wrong on something, I once translated Civ4 files, I hope you can get it..

Ok, ya esta hecho, pero he visto varios problemas:

-La letra Ñ: Muy usada en mi idioma, pero por algun motivo en la edicion no me no deja usarla..
-Cienaga: falla la imagen
-Musica Spain: No he sido capaz de hacer funcionar la musica "Europe" y de hacer pruebas ahora mi civ no tiene sonido (jajajaja..)

Al añadir yo mi propia traduccion el archivo GameText.xml, no la acepta, quizas me equivoque en algo, yo antes traducia los archivos del CIV4, espero que tu lo consigas..

A ver si conseguimos mejorarlo!
