Yes, you got that write, we are dumb says the in-game scientific advisor. Well not those words...

Anyway nobody I repeat NOBODY won't trade with us. Isn't that nice...(no not the guy Nobody, I don't think he would trade with us too ...:D :p )

I figiure I start the next discussion what to research next. I know it's early but to get and idea of what to research next.

So..what do we research next...

Our choices...

Iron Working - we see iron and can build swordsmen]
Masonry - build the Palace somewhere else, walls, Pyramid (Granary), and outposts
Pottery - Granary
The Wheel - Chariot
Warrior Code - Archer
Mysticism - Temple

Then after writing is complete, we have these choices:
Philosophy - Mass something someting (Wonder), free tech
Code of Laws - Courthouse
Literature - Great Library, Library

And that's it..so what you think???

POST HERE!!

Use the knowledge tactic: Wriing-Philosophy-Literature. We can trade those techs for more or keep Literature for the Great Library. Thats what i do.

since you guys have decided again on going for writing first (grumble...grumble), we might as well try to get the free tech bonus from Philosophy.

philosphy, that was the whole reason of going for writing, right? Then lit, and build the GL,i like that idea, that will catch us up in the tech race. :D

First I was thinking about Iron Working, but now it would be better to research Literature and get the GL as soon as possible. Or we can continue as technological backwards.

I think GL is better for now. We must hurry to get literature and build the wonder, so we can have knowledge for free.

Since we're gambling anyways, how about researching code of laws then philosophy to grab the republic free? Anyone?

That's interesting but the only problem is we will still be backwards, I feel we researched philo to obtain a tech literature to get a valuable wonder, not to switch governments, especially so soon, anarchy would not be so nice neither would the terrible unit support.

once we get the great library, we can then coast and not even worry about trading... until then trade philosophy for resource techs(wheel and IW)

Who said anything about getting the GL? I think we may be lucky to start building it before someone else finishes it! Research is going to advance slowly while the AI has an incredible leg up, we'll be short cities, which further limits our research power, and I think we'll need to be devoting the production power of our cities to more units so that we can live to see the middle ages while carving out the buffer zone we need.

Writing makes a good trading pawn in the unlikely event we find a civ without it - let us learn Iron Working ASAP, so we can claim this vital resource.

Researching Iron Working will let us know where the iron is, but we still will be very primitive if we don't concentrate on the GL now.
