Just a quick question that puzzles me. I am playing against four opponents and they all have a little three arrow symbol against their name and I don't. I figure it is something to do with trade, but don't know what. I am connected to most of the civs and have at least one harbour. Can anyone help me?

Aloha kkapalk

That :traderoute: symbol stands for trade routes and means that w/ an open border agreement w/ any of those civs, you can start getting trade route commerce from that civ which is usually more than what your cities will give you.

The city w/ the harbor will increase that said yield by 50% and having the Great Lighthouse will also add bonuses.

I THINK it means you have open borders with them. I`m not sure, though, but if you are "connected to most (all?)" of them that could be correct.

Someone correct me if I`m wrong :undecide:

Cheers

EDIT: Uncle E, you beat me

:)

I think it means that they are connected to the trade network.

Thanks guys, the only problem is I also have open borders and indeed are trading with some of the civs, but I do not have the icon as they do.

My understanding of the trade icon is it indicates that a civilization is connected to you for trading purposes (i.e. able to trade resources). As such this icon wouldn't make sense to display for your own civ (and so to the best of my knowledge it never is).

Hope this was clear - good luck trading.

what is the third symbol? sometimes there are the arrows, the religion and , then another symbol. It resembles a map or something?

The scroll symbol means that you have open borders with them… unless it has a peace sign on it, in which case it means you have a Defensive Pact.
