When you trade away one of your technologies, do you lose it yourself? Will you have to research it again?

Nope, you can trade the same tech to every culture in the game, and still have a copy yourself.

Resources are a different story. When you trade them (and you only trade one to a culture, not all your extra), you have the total available for your use reduced by one. So, don't trade away your last strategic resource.

It's an 'exchange' of knowledge as opposed to a 'trade' of knowledge, I suppose. Anyway, you retain your knowledge of the technology you traded.

I don't believe that's actually possible to do, is it? If you have n sources of something, the most you would be able to trade is n-1...ensuring that you always have access to that resource. At least, I think that's the case. Math is hard.

You can trade away all your extra resources and have your last source deplete :( This happened to me at a key moment in a space race last night. I think you can trade away your last resource, it's just almost never benificial.

Things seldom heard: I have enough tanks, can you please take my last oil.
