Translation Questions?

Hey everyone, I posted this question on customization thread about a day ago, and nobody answered. Since most of the community is here, can someone point me to the link I was looking for. This was my original question:

"Hi everyone, just a few question I wanted to ask. I plan to do (from time to time) a complete translation of all things in Civ 5 from English to Serbian. When I enter Steam, I see that in Properties I can switch between English and Russian, so could I do the same with Serbian? And how do I add an entirely new language? I suppose that since I have Russian language that the game can detect Cyrillic writing. So I would like to ask, someone out there who is from Russia (or some other Cyrillic country) will the game be able to read these symbols?

Also if someone could explain me how to do this stuff on Technical level, or simply point me where can I find some completed guide. This modification is my personal, although I might even release it as a mod one day.

I can assure you that you will not be able to pick any custom languages from Steam's properties. You'll have to create a complete conversion mod.

There's plenty of mods that completely change descriptions in the game so I believe you should follow their example. Characters shouldn't be a problem since you can change in-game fonts. I'm not a modder myself so I cannot take you through any technical details but if you contact any of the modders in modding section of the forum, you should get the help you need.

Thanks for the reply. So the game wouldn't have any problem reading Cyrillic, that's pretty good, as for technical details I will find them somewhere.
