How do you know which transport has just arrived and which ones have been docked in your city? I've spent HOURS loading and unloadin units in transports, just because I load 'em in the wrong one, and then I have to unload them again, select each transport and see which ones have the most movement points left, move those one tile away from the coast, and then have my units jump in the boat. And still, if the drop point is close, I will have to wait next turn to unload them, because the units lost their turn when they jumped. So I'm wondering, when you move your units to the coastal city, press "L" to load, and the list of available boats appears, how do you know which ones do you want them to load in? The first? The last? Or is it random?

I never use the same city for loading and docking. I usually have two coastal cities near each other and use one for loading and the other for docking.

But I mean like, this is the closest city to your beachhead on the other continent, so your transports are moving constantly between cities. Last turn you had 6 transports on your citiy, load 3 of them, unload on the other city, then return, but don't arrive at the first city. The other 3 stay at the city. The next turn, they arrive before you could load the 3 that stayed and you have more units to fill another 3 ships. How do you know which ones just arrived and which were already there?

Best to simply label them 1 to whatever, or A to Z, or something if you are having that much trouble. I have taken to naming units, but more to customize them than to keep track of them.

A little prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Rename the transports before you use them. Shift+N will do the trick. Transport01, TransportA, Titantic, Queen Mary...give them a name.

And, load all your troops into boats that have their full movement available and move those boats out towards their unloading destination. Then move in your boats that are coming in empty. That will help, too, even if you don't name your boats.

Generally, I find it easier for me to move boats in convoys, even if not everyone is full. That means each group of my boats will have the same start and end place, which makes it easier to keep track of them.
