trouble with civ5

I have been playing Civ5 for about a month, but just recently, when I open Directx11/12
it is in windowed mode. I tried Alt+Enter, didn't work, restarted my computer, didn't work. It is fine playing in windowed mode, but it is annoying. I am cofused checked webistes but still couldnt find answer.

Check the options on the main menu. One of them (Options?) has tabs at the top for various settings. One of them relates to Video. There is a box for full screen that you can check.

It can also be done by changing a setting in the xml file in the top xml directory which you can find in the Steam/steamapps/ ...civ 5/directory.

Its easier to just find the setting from Main Menu / Options.

I believe my game crashes when I select the tick box for full screen, but toggling the resolution always works for me to get it back in full screen, so try that if the usual methods don't work.
