Welcome to the TSG 148 After Actions Report. In this thread you can post the results of your game. Please state victory date and score (preferably in the post title), as recorded in the Hall of Fame, and the most important: your path to glory!

STOP - Please do not continue reading this thread until you have completed and submitted your game.

Please use the Civ5 game submission page to submit your final, first play through, .Civ5Save file, saved AFTER the victory ceremony if you were not conquered (using the "Lemme play one more turn" feature.).

- How many cities did you settle? Did anyone else settle on your island?
- Describe your World Congress choices.
- If you had a cultural plan, how well did it play out? Describe any successes or failures in the plan.
- How did you focus on tourism? Were Maoi a significant part?
- Describe the order you influenced the Civs. Any runaways?

Please use spoiler tags for any surprise details you'd like kept hidden. Thanks.

Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the game. Some players like to replay the game, and although we will not record the results from a replay, you can still post your new experiences (please state if the game is a replay). Please refrain from posting videos until the deadline for submission is over.

On turn 187 I had taken Carthage from global pariah Dido, and had kept the other civs busy warring with her while I took Constantinople from Theodora, who was hoarding wonders like a madwoman. Adrianople was one tile away from the coast, so I could still reach it (and it's 6-7 additional wonders) with my logistic-equipped frigate armada.

Needless to say, I captured Adrianople. It was barely out of unrest when Willem and Maria backstabbed me. I was able to hold them off with my navy, but they stalled my economy significantly in the process, and William took Carthage. On turn 225 or so, Elizabeth joined the party and is sending her SOTL my way, and although I may be able to win a long and bloody war against all four remaining AI (Dido declared with Elizabeth but is pretty much powerless) I don't really feel like continuing.

A similar story here: I played a long and slow game of catch up to the AI. I was continuously last in tech until I got ideology, took Autocracy with futurism & double spy stealing rate. Once I was almost on par with the AI, I got double dowed by Carthage and Portugal so I gave up (around turn 240). I might have been able to defend but without trade routes, no chance to win this one.

Maybe if I went back 100 turns and focussed on building my military for the inevitable war i might stand a chance, but I don't think I'll be bothered... even though it would make for an interesting game.
