I thought it will be my first game i quit in a slow rage, around turn 120 or so. Nothing seemed to go right for me, my fault of course, i knew where 6 iron was but did nothing to get it. Had SM and LSM soon enough but no iron. then got some in a series of CS deals and from Romans. Tried taking Delhi first, did not get far before being Dowed by Genghis.
Turned my army south, took 1 city on the way to his cap and then got bogged down, did not make any headway and kept losing units around his cap. Then Romans dowed as well and i had -50% resource penalty to deal with on top of my 3 wars. Thats when i wnated to quit. I did actuall but saved and went to bed. then figured i needed to play my losing games and learn, besides i like a challenge.
SO i went back, made up with Ghandi, and Gehgis who was nice enough to throw 2k my way, and i knew i was in business. I made some CS allies and built a 2nd city for measly 2 iron but i wasnt -50% anymore. Took Rome, turned back and took Mongol Cap, went back east to Persepolis, got bogged down again and then Dowed by Turks. Peace with Persia then war on Ottomans, it went slow, LSM were out of date, built 2nd army took delhi on the way to Istanbul, swung the whole joined army south to Persepolis. Rifes by then of course. In meantime my Oxford , GS sligshot got me artillery and Persia fell easily.
In meantime my 3rd army walked accross Greece to very tip of continent, Sidon i think, took it over a a base for attack on Alex as soon as i get Dynamite, upgraded took his cap and held onto it, while main army turned back from perisa to take Mecca. Just in time as Arabs were spamming Artillery as well by then. I killed and commanded more units then in any other game i think. All in all it was fun pulling out this one from jaws of defeat even though i knew i would not be in contention
I just had no idea by how much i would not be ...
