Hey,

Just was playing Turks. As far as I could tell I had the Balkans, Meso, and B. Sea... but I didn't get the freakin' UHV in 1700.

Is there an up-to-date map of this UHV anywhere?

This poorly doc-ed UHV goals are starting to get on my nerves.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,

Ryry

1) What is Mesopotamia (game-wise, I mean.)?
2) I need three cities? Where is that in the documentation?

Oh, the answer is no. Only 1. But the territory was all mine.

Tom, THANKS!!

Damn it! No where in the documentation did it mention 3 cities in each section!!! Though annoying, I am willing to forgive mapping out for me in the documentation what they consider Mesopatamia to be.... but come on, you gotta tell me 3 cities in each..... what, am I just supposed to magically figure that out. Arrrrghhhhhhh.......!

Anyhoo..... good excuse to ignore friends and try it again!!

I think it mostly has to do with the 3000bc start, the cities you need are usually there for you to conquer. If you start with 600ad you probably need to build a city or 2 to get the UHV.

Simakis the point is all UHV's should be doable from any start and especially the 600AD start for the later Civs.

the Balkan and Black Sea areas overlap in some tiles. So I think that certain cities count for both. Example: Istanbul.

This seems true. I had two cities in the Balkans (Belgrade and Athens), but I got the UHV. However, I do not know if Istanbul can count for BOTH Balkans and the Black Sea... I had 4 cities in the Black Sea area counting Istanbul.

It does count for the Black sea aswell, so if you start 600ad you need to build 2 more cities cause trabezon does not count.

On Monarch this UHV seemed pretty easy to me. The hardest part might be to get the three vassals..... but I got them and kept them early. Of course that hurts the economy...

It is a fun one though, you have to play pretty aggressive and Turkey can support quite the army.

One thing I had noticed with Turkey is that their UP is devasting: it makes conquest a lot easier.

I got this from a link on the Rhye's of Wiki website....

Here is a larger view...it mentions the 3 cities per area...

Why is Trabzon not counted as a Black Sea city? It's on the coast and with reasonable culture would enclose the whole eastern Black Sea. It just makes pissing off Russia much easier, or it means founding Sinop which sucks in the 600 AD start (since Konya is already a small city to start with). I guess I can always just give Azov to Russia but I take a hit in stability for no good reason.

I guess it's because including its tile line would mean including part of the Aegean coast, which is not Black Sea.

Hmm.. so does Constantinople count as one city in the Balkans AND one city in the Black Sea, or does it pick one? That map should come with the manual.
