Lots of things happened this turn. First, this is the picture of our mainland before the cities were renamed:

Second, this is after the cities were renamed. New names:

Duck Pond, Emp, Unlucky Harbor and Or. I also managed to change the name of Khazad Dum as suggested by Matrix.

We have discovered the Wheel. And look what we have found!!! This is indeed the breaking news!!! There are horses right underneath the unlucky harbor!!!

There are also second horses!!! On the iron island. There is a settler in the galley and we can build cities in one turn in the following locations: A, B, C, and D. All locations are good IMO and make little difference. But we can build on a hill to make better defence.

Also, our heroic JT attack barbarian horseman this turn at was victorious (no slaves obtained) losing one hit point. Also, our warrior bypassed the barbarian stack and discovered a stack of Persian units on the mountain. The warrior will be advancing to C3B territory to scout there.

The Persian stack contains 3 Immortals and warrior. Their renaming of units are slightly in violation of the game rules. This should be reported to the UN IMO, so that they can change the names of the units according to the rules. Otherwise, they are misleading us since we don't know the real units in the stack. We certainly can know by right-clicking, so no big deal here. Yet, this is not allowed.

C3B is still in Anarchy and it is starting to hurt them. Their capital is starving. Here is the F11 screen:

Also note that after discovery of Wheel, the research has been stopped.

To summarize

1) It seems that either C3B was deliberately misleading us or they did a poor job of scouting for us. I'm rather confident it was an intentional lie. This proves they were always going to kill us, right from the start. Unlucky Harbor is sitting right atop the horses! It is now more imperative that we attempt to trade for Horseback Riding or obtain it as soon as possible.

2) IMHO, Rik probably should immediately contact CDZ with the following offer:

Trade Construction+HBR to us because we can kill C3B. This will ensure good and fair finals. Besides, they can try to win by Space Race but they will never be sure. Also, we have horses, 2 sources and C3B apparently has none. So we can build superior units (Horsemen and Knights up to Cavalry if we have saltpeter) and can crush their Immortals provided that we have techs and cash. They cannot kill us without horses IMO.

3) We need to hook up both sources ASAP. Workers are being built and estimated time of hooking up Unlucky Harbor is maximum 7 turns. The new city on Iron island will be hooked shortly after that.

4) CoG plan has to undergo major revision. We will have a new unit, horsemen. We might need to know how we can use the unit in conjunction with the plan.

5) C3B are being hurt by Anarchy now. I hope it will continue for a few more turns. That is another argument for CDZ to help us.

I'm just happy that the horses were found and this can mean the turning point in the game. Must admit that I was a bit naive when put too much trust into the words of C3B that neither of us has them. Crap!

6) IMO, Ankka can submit a formal complaint through UN about names of C3B units. but we can let it go as well.

Akots, on unit naming, note that last turn we at last had the JT named wrong, only Saxon Scullcusher without the JT part... is this corrected? And other units?

Because I won't accuse C3B if we are doing the same mistake too.

But, great news on the horses, and I was actually pretty sure we'd have them.. C3B didn't even explore our whole land.

You are sending the settler unguarded to the island... are you sure there isn't a barb uprising happened there?

Other units except Saxon Skullcrusher were renamed. This one will be renamed next turn. But it is uncovered, so can be judged from a picture.

I will double check but does not look like there is uprizing there. otherwise, barbs should have knocked on the gates of Chrys already. Just need to keep on the NW-SE line. However, horsemen can indeed jump out of the fog and it will be better to land the settler closer to our borders on site C. We were actually short of military police hence were unable to spare a unit to galley. Next turn the situation will improve since our capital will build a spearman.

And given that they had a warrior camped on that very spot as recent as turn 102 kind of gives away whether they knew about it or not.

I like site B on the new island. Gives us good defense for the city, a bonus grassland, on the coast, and horses.

Keep barb hunting...and watching that suspicious C3B stack...

I'm on it.

site B looks ok. But I think the cities are then too far spread out. We can build a new city in between B and Duck Pond.

What about calling the new city (near the horses on the island) : "Witpaard".
That is my RL surname and the first part of my email address and it means "White Horse". I then finally have my own named city.

Paard, like in German Pferd, or Italian Pforza, interesting, English Horse.

Perhaps I should just PM FortyJ about the units naming issue... What will I say? Propose that C3B is reminded about it? IMHO an official complain would be a tad bit harsh...

It's hevonen in Finnish, BTW. :)

Tell fortyJ, but ask him that we would not like C3B to know tht we are the ones complaining :p

Yay for hester (horses in Norwegian) :p

Site B looks good, and there's rom for a city between B and duckpond.

I like Ankka's suggestion of just pm'ing FortyJ btw, making an official complaint will just make it look as we want to take revenge on them by *****ing over every little thing.

Quite right! Time will be in our advantage! We need to be patient until we can build knights IMO.
