Th eonly way to see those pics is if you have the specific address to them, they can't be viewed any other way.

You do realize, akots, if someone were determined enough, they could enter every number in the attachment field (ie; http://forums.civfanatics.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1&stc=1, http://forums.civfanatics.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2&stc=1, etc, etc), thereby seeing all our screenshots, etc? So that way isn't any more secure than the uploads. It'll just take more time to see them, although it is possible.

Yes, I do realise this but upload folder is an open directory and it is possible to see filenames in it. And it is not that huge, can be screened regularly. Not the case with attachments which can count about 100,000 total at least but probably more.

Apparently it looks like the amendment is going to make it through with 9 votes for it. Seven are required iirc. Hence, there would be nothing to prevent extensive discussion over chats or e-mail with posting global conclusions in the forum.

Sorry guys, i didn't know that posting pics like that would be... ehmm... what's a good word... CONCERNING... Anyways, what i have done is renamed the file extensions to .old, if you want to see them you'll now have to type in their specific address with the correct new file extension to see them, if that's not adequately secure, i can always remove them totally, no problem.

It's just my little web space on AOL, i doubt anyone would think to look under a specific Screen name on AOL to see them, but eh i suppose it's possible. So, let me know what to do. I can upload them to my MOD site's server http://buda5.firstones.com but i don't know if that's any MORE or LESS secure than an anonymous AOL server. I just posted them this way so u could look and read at the same time, that's why i didn't attach.

Yes, per this amendment we can limit discussion of the plan to e-mails and chat which constitutes Secret Security Clearance. Nothing will be removed, it will just not be posted here but sent over e-mail or distributed by other means to ensure it stays secret.

And I'm not your friend yet. Neither the enemy though.

I guess you got to go to OT forum to discuss advantages of Russian Democracy over Canadian or American or any other kind. Besides, the issues have been raised already iirc. We are Mayan Monarchy btw.

Show me where the ammendement clearly specifies that discussion can be taken to to emails. It never even mentions that. Is that called Russian inference?

What is the point of this whole email buisness. If someone really wants our plans, they will just send Rik an email asking for clearance, and voila he has them all! Why not save everyone the trouble and just post them here.

I would never befriend someone who displays the rudeness you have displayed towards myself and others. You say your not my enemy, but in truth I believe that anyone who disagrees with you is your enemy.

That is because that ammendement never talks about taking discussion and planning to emails only. The problem is not that you don't want to argue your case, the problem is you can't. I will quote it, just so everyone can see.

In order to obtain the copies of saves, the password code, or be privy to future battle plans, a citizen must submit the information required by the CFC moderator. This constitutes Secret Security Clearance. At the time of this writing requested information included name, email address, IP adresses, etc, so that these could be checked against global databases to ensure that such citizens were not participants in other MSDG teams.

It states that you must have "Secret Security Clearance," to have access to saves and future battle information, but it does not specify that the way in which that information would be transmitted.

It is irresponsible to make an ammendement with an idea en tête, and then purposely leave the ammendement ambigious. Once the ammendement is passed, claim that it is suppose to this, when in reality, it is only meant to do that.

Lets think about this logically. If there is a spy here, he will simply email you and get the plans. Just like that. Please save everyone the hassle and posts them.

One of the purposes of a democracy, is to protect a minority from having it's rights stripped.

And how can you quantifiable say that the majority agree with removing discussion from the forums? Has that ever been polled? I think not.

No one has yet to tell me the benefit of emailing plans. Any spy who has access to these forums already has access to your email address and he can easily get his name on the "list." All I am asking is for you to think logically and rationally. If you can't do that, and if you can't think of an advantage to your system, then what is the point?

I realize that your motivation is somewhat benign, but please do not under-estimate the impact this decision could have. It will turn alot of people off this game.

Unless of course that is what EMP and akots want. Then akots can implement all "common sense" he wants.
